Unfortunately, there’s no review this week as Didi wasn’t showing at any local cinemas, despite its apparent 2 August release (according to IMDB).
The reported dates for film releases can be skewed by limited releases and film festival premiers. Sometimes (though not often) this interferes with our schedule, and this week is one such week — we hope you’ll forgive us.
However, you can still find the usual dose of headlines, trailers and a fact of the week… though I’m not sure it’ll top last week’s fact about Stuart Little.
Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are set to star in Kristoffer Borgli’s (Dream Scenario) upcoming film The Drama from A24. Read more.

Tensions begin to simmer when Ashley (Missy Peregrym) introduces her friend Kyle (Joris Jarsky) to meet her fiancé Nolan (Damon Runyan) at her family’s secluded cabin in the woods. In an effort to bond, the men go hunting but soon become the hunted.
UK: January // USA: January
Not a lot is known about Steven Soderbergh’s latest film, only that it stars Lucy Liu and it follows a family as they move into a suburban home only to become convinced that they’re not alone.
According to writer and director Andrew Niccol, the production crew behind Lord of War, starring Nicolas Cage, worked with actual gunrunners and arms dealers to source some of their props.
There was, for example, a stock pile of 3,000 real AK-47s that were cheaper to source than fake prop guns. In another scene they rented 50 tanks from a Czech arms dealer, who needed them back shortly after in order to sell them to another country.
For this particular scene, the filmmakers even had to warn N.A.T.O. to ensure the set wasn’t mistaken for a real tank battalion on their satellite feeds.
