Hello there!
A few weeks ago I published the oatmeal raisin cookies…and I finally got around to finishing up the chocolate chip oatmeal cookie version!
And, after some feedback from one of my readers indicating that they found it a bit too sweet - I restested the oatmeal raisin with less sugar, by dropping the sugar content by 25% and 50%. Notes for these reductions can be found in the post and the recipe card.
But, because sugar plays an important role in moisture and texture, reducing the sugar content will result in a different final outcome. Most notably a reduction of sugar will reduce the chewiness of the cookie, as well as the spread of the cookie during baking.
This cookie takes the wholesome flavor of oats and combines it with the delicious notes of chocolate - and you can use whatever chocolate you want - dark, milk, bittersweet, or semisweet!
A fantasy drama based on a book series written by Philip Pullman. And the jury is still out on what I think about it.
I fell into a Crowded House loop after hearing them on an advert which probably means they will be touring around NZ soon.
Have you tried a recipe on saltyginger.com? Please leave me a star rating or share it on your favorite social media platform! All this supports me and helps my blog grow. Which I truly appreciate!
See you next week!
