He comes to Anna in a heightened state.
“Three things,” he says. “In the first place I didn’t tell you that an old lady was murdered near here not so long ago and now I’ve written her into the Orphan screenplay, I made her Angela Santangelo, so maybe the climax will happen right here, it will all go down right here, on the beach, in this house, in this bedroom, here. In the second place, Nia called. She says she’s leaving, everyone’s leaving, and we really should watch the news, or at least the weather report. There’s a storm on its way. At least Category One, but it could go higher. But I say there’s no need to panic, we should just stay.”
“What’s the third thing?”
“I think I have a fever,” he says. “I don’t feel so great.”
