Good Morning and welcome to our Sunday Meeting!
This week I am being my own litmus and I bring you a mixed bag of things. Things that I have seen, bought, eyed up, or been sent to try. I have extensively researched, filtered and hunted all corners of the internet. A lovely lady messaged me and it really resonated - she said ‘Sally, you are my search engine’ I take my job very seriously indeed and have been very busy ‘search engine-ing’. (I have decided that that is a word.)
I am delighted to bring you 4 EXCLUSIVE discount codes I managed to wangle as a thank you to you for being here! These are not shared on IG, they are just for us, over here on Substack. :) woohoo! In da Clubbbb.
Let’s dive in.
As often happens, I fell in to a rabbit hole where I spent longer than was entirely necessary BUT in my defence, it was research based and the sale is on with really really good prices.
POOKY is the place to go for quirky lighting. The website is fantastic because you can choose a base and it lets you play until you find the perfect lampshade to go with it. No guesswork on size or colour, it makes it super easy and the sale section is very tempting indeed.
For instance…
The savings are ridiculous - the picture light I bought last year is now £30 down from £100 SHOP the entire sale here
Next I bring news of the first of the fabulous discount codes I promised you. If you are a long time reader here or follower on Instagram, you will be aware already of my love for our local boutique, Love of Lemons (if you are visiting online use Sally10, or in person just say my name and the code and you will receive your discount)
This is Bex, she has amazing brands in store and I am obsessed. You can park on the road outside for free Google Maps Link What3Words
One of my favourite brands that Bex has in store is the Danish brand OST (pronounced Toast without the T) and their founder, Sigga has the most amazing eye for colour combinations and design. I have been living in her Else and Anna Tees which are one size - short and long sleeved and available in SO many colours it is almost impossible to choose. They wash like a dream and go with whatever you wear them with. If you are not passing Cornwall anytime soon, you can still get your paws on Sigga’s collection over on her website.
Sigga has very kindly given us a code for 20% off any order across the website
Use code Sally20 for 20% off your order
Now for the 3rd fabulous code and yes you bet I will be using all codes myself! I am nothing if not the litmus
If you are anything like me, and find that fitted sheets are the bane of your life - not least because they are disappointingly prone to pinging off one of your mattress corners in the middle of the night. And wrestling one on to your mattress after just one little turn in the tumble dryer renders them at least 2 sizes smaller than is usable, then look no further.
I was recently introduced to Rise & Fall. They partner with the same makers who have clients such as The White Company and produce products that are comparable in every way, except price. They even tell you on their website, the retail price for the same item, of their competitors. They do this across menswear, womenswear, home, and bedding.
So looping back to bedding, their fitted sheets are a revelation. They are DEEP. They have a grippy edge too (said grippy edge pictured above, think ‘hold ups’ - its a similar kind of grippy edge) meaning they stay put, and they are EXCELLENT quality. No bobbling AND there is a label telling you which is the short side, making it much easier to make your bed - is there anything more exasperating than realising you’re attempting to put the sheet on sideways?
Rise & Fall have given us 15% off all orders - including on top of sale items - I checked (all in the name of research ofc)
SHOP HERE use sally15
I still cannot iron and neatly fold a fitted sheet, but hey. Some things just aren’t meant to be.
Now let’s go smoothly to face and neck creams (kind of pun intended… I’ll get my coat)
I have been using a magical serum and it was very much needed. I’m not sure what happens to a girl’s neck after the age of 55, but bloody nora I wish someone had warned me. I only noticed this terrible state of affairs when I inadvertently made my face the main one on a Facetime call, shrinking for moment, my best friend’s face in to the smaller box. GOOD GOD. I was shooketh. The neck sag was NOT good.
Enter emergency serum promising results. This is not my neck, but it might as well be.
This stuff is not cheap, but in an emergency I trust Estee. I found it HERE at 20% off. It pairs with
THIS - also 20% off A treat, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
And waiting in the wings was one I was sent to try and it has rave reviews
When I shared this on IG stories, many many people messaged saying how brilliant Medik8 is, across the board. Find it here 15% off your first order using the pop up box.
I’ll keep you updated on the neck sitch. I’m considering a bulldog clip at the back at this point but I have faith in Estee and you gotta have faith a faith a faith, BAYBEE (sing that bit and it makes sense)
Now a quick mention about bags. I am being absolutely hounded by my algorithm so I am passing this hot potato to you bc I really do not need this bag (do I ?!!) it is SO nice and is on sale - please buy them all so I am not able to. Help a girl out haha
Nicola from Forage Somerset has just launched a brand new collection of her top selling Dumpling Clutch Bags. All new colour combos - dopamine comes as standard. They are the perfect holiday accessory - don’t save them for best - take them to the beach and again out in the evening. They fit loads in, and snap firmly closed. I use mine as a toiletry bag when packing - then as a handbag while I am away. They are - and I cannot stress this enough - BRILLIANT bags. Nicola has very kindly rustled up a 20% discount that you can use on anything across her website.
FEAST.YOUR. EYES. Just a small selection - they are £28 if you use the discount code SAL20 The whole website, like its owner, is a joy, a wonderful rabbit hole to peruse. And if you need any persuading - remember you’re supporting a gorgeous small business, who, like the others I have mentioned, will do a happy dance when you place your order!
Now. I am not the chosen one, I reckon you will also have been hounded by the next brand I bring you today. I saw them literally everywhere I looked on line - until I caved in and bought a pair. Their advertising budget must be massive. Anyway, let me explain.
I HATE flip- flops. There, I said it. I try them - think I like them and then realise I don’t. I admire the women who walk all day in a Havaiana. I wish I could, but they are SO flat. And flip floppy. Floppy being the word of the day. It has taken me years to admit this to myself
Then, in strolls ARCHIES and absolutely stalks me online, launching a full sale campaign to wear me down, showing me how supportive they are, telling me how deliciously squishy the sole is, how they are all moulded and the toe post doesn’t have that button thing that pops out if you catch your foot on something. Teasing me with all the colours, and by some sort of internet witch craft, making me panic that the colour I wanted would be sold out in a flash, before I even chose a colour. It’s the robots THE ROBOTS I tell ya.
SO I BOUGHT A PAIR. For research purposes. And to stop the robots from hassling me obvs. (Joking, kind of. I say please and thankyou to my robot so when they take over the world, I am IN with them. Yes it might take an extra pint of water, but I think it’s a good investment, long term. ‘She bought the flip flops AND said thank you, we’ll spare her’)
Anyway, sorry, I digress. The ARCHIES results are in
OMG they are FANTASTIC. Even that toe post is comfy. I have worn them so much I have stripes on my feet. HA.
FIND THEM HERE I bought brown, which are in and out of stock, I think they do it on purpose to make you panic. I was tempted by the lemon, baby blue and ofc red. If you fancy slides instead, FIND SLIDES HERE.
AND finally, if you are after a gorgeous present for a friend, here’s an idea. I am in a group chat and we bought one of these between us for a friend’s big birthday so I thought I’d share because they are SO lovely. Once again, I am the self appointed litmus, I’d LOVE one of these, layered with other pieces, just perfect.
TALISMAN PENDANTS AND NECKLACES from a new brand to me, Missoma. 10% off your first order if you sign up - I immediately unsubscribe to prevent being tempted further. Self preservation. There are some really lovely pieces, rings, bracelets and earrings. Well worth a look if you’re after something special.
And for today, that concludes our Sunday meeting. Next week’s meeting will be all about our new utility room, and how we made the most of every single cm after moving a wall to make it smaller (and the reasons why). It was a sad little windowless room that had no soul and it’s been transformed. It’s still windowless, but its now a pleasure to be in. I’ll share our little lighting trick that has made all the difference, too.
Ooh! just one last thing if you happen to be in Cornwall on 2nd August. I’m taking part in Styled Sunday at Lanteague Studios - Geeorgie (my amazing nail tech ) is hosting a 2nd hand clothes and accessories sale. I will be there with my rail, from my final clear out before I close my wardrobe doors for a while.
Here’s the location - Lanteague is worth a visit anyway as there’s so many brilliant small businesses here.
‘We’re here on Google Maps

Right! Have a lovely Sunday and a peaceful week. I’ll bid you farewell. Thanks so much for reading today’s letter.
Love
Sally xx
