In my world, the inner terrain wants to express itself outwards—always.
First I feel it in my body, then a mind’s-eye picture forms. I make a plan—sometimes a rudimentary drawing in my sketch book; sometimes many drawings.
They are reminiscent of the kindergarten drawings we all made of our homes and families—yes, that’s how I draw, still.
Yesterday I bought the plants I like and arranged them. This morning there was a marine layer and this afternoon’s a bit cloudy, so it’s not a perfect moment to determine how much sun is available.
More sunny days to come this week!
And, the landscape company is here now measuring to estimate the clearing, soil amendments, planting, bark and stone.
My body is lit-up with trepidation, excitement, and even a little anxiety—a metaphor for my shifting inner terrain. It triggers worry thoughts. Strange. Non-linear. Seemingly irrational.
Yet they are totally connected, as body—its electro-chemical nature and emotional paste that links to the body to images, calls forth the memories and creates the thoughts.
Although the body is present, the emotions and thought-evoked memories may not be, necessarily. In any context, they are most certainly an opportunity
Slow down. Breathe. Feel my body; listen to the sounds of its presence.. Today offers me a whole a new experience.
