Hello friends and fam!
Things might look a little different around here. That’s by design.
In short – I won’t be writing much here anymore. That’s not because I’ve stopped writing… it’s actually because I’ve doubled down on my new publication: The Spoonful.
The Spoonful is focused on evergreen essays and ideas – with topics spanning technology, value, and mysticism. If that sounds interesting to you, you can check it out here:
I’ve always found a great joy and alignment in expressing myself through words. Recently, that fire of creativity has expanded, and I’ve wanted not only to share my writing with the broader world, but elevate the standard of my expression.
The months have been quiet on this newsletter because I’ve been busy – on top of work, I recently took Write of Passage, where I found feedback on my pieces, confidence to publish, and most importantly, a community of incredible people to learn from.
For a gist of what I’ve published so far, check out the recap of my writings so far:
That brings me to Substack, the platform that, in addition to The Spoonful, this letter now lives on. When starting Write of Passage, I thought it would be better to host my written content on a self-hosted solution, rather than on a platform.
But I’ve come to love Substack. There are fantastic people writing here, and features like Substack Notes makes me want to stay and make friends here. (It feels more fun than Twitter did!)
Essays on The Spoonful were initially meant to live separately from these letters to you, but I intend to blend them, in a way. My seasonal recaps (like the one I linked above) might start to feel more like these letters — mixing links, reflections, and shoutouts every few weeks.
As the new publication will be my primary channel for writing, this letter will live on. I can envision a world where I bring it back… after all, this creative process is ever-evolving.
As always, please send me updates (or any other cool stuff you’ve been jamming to!)
I’ll catch ya around,
Saalik
