When I started this ‘column’ it was simply meant to be a weekly diary about what I’d been drinking whilst getting up to whatever it is I get up to (no idea either).
Mainstream wine stuff remains under the cosh from the editors/advertiser/owners to churn out samey supermarket recs and yet another piece about rosé in the summer or port at Christmas because clicks are king. I thought a window into what a wine pro actually consumes out of choice and on their own dollar might be…. welcome?
But it obviously didn’t happen because I am perpetually crippled by a crushing voice bellowing that nothing I do is remotely interesting or good enough. Instead I’ve published a splattering of random pieces at irregular intervals whenever a flash of inspiration/desperation hits. It’s the one thing every single guide about how to succeed at Substack tells you not to do, and it’s precisely what I do.
Conversely, when it comes to Instagram, I don’t worry about whether I’m interesting enough, as demonstrate…
