My dad and I often discuss how people these days want things immediately. This usually comes down to people wanting to tick something off their to-do list. It could be, ‘I think we need more bananas. Let's add them to our shopping list before I forget,’ or, ‘Oof! I've run out of that cable. I need to get more for Tuesday’s job". Opening the doors to those out-of-hours sales is the main reason we built E-Commerce into Rundoo.
This week’s primer is focused on all things E-Commerce, featuring an exciting new launch and a quick refresher. The big news?
E-Commerce is now available through the customer mobile app and online. That’s right, your web store is now accessible and built into your POS! What’s so different about that, I hear you say? Well, read on to find out how impactful this could be for your business.
E-Comm & The Customer App ✨
This has been live for a few weeks now but in case you missed it, your customers can place an order inside the Rundoo customer app. It's live for every Rundoo client who wants it. You just flip it on yourself. Within the app, customers can pay off their balances, and check in on the status of those online orders. They will also be notified when that order is ready to pick up.
What does this mean? 🤔
Really what this means is that customers and contractors can create a new order, or reorder their usual, without having to phone the store or driving over. The order comes to you, you prep it, then they come over and pick it up.
Why is this important?💡
As much as you want your store to be open 24/7, it is just not possible. You have hours that limit when your customers can come in to pick something up, or when you can answer their call to create an order. The app provides them with the ability to place an order at any time of the day, and it goes to you straight away. As soon as you open up those doors, you'll see the list of orders that came in. That means your doors may close, but your shop doesn't. Your counter is always ticking over.

Yes, the app is fantastic for your existing customers - your regulars, your contractors. It keeps them connected from anywhere. Your online store allows users to login and browse your full catalog, without needing to download an app. Logged in, they can see their own price tier or custom pricing and build a cart.
So how is this different than the customer app? ❓
This is not just limited to existing customers. New customers can also see all that is offered in the store. The difference is that guests pricing is determined by your chosen defaults. This means that your reach outside of the walls of your store is now wider.
E-Commerce & POS - Connected 🌉
AND each order that comes through shows up in your POS with an e-commerce source. It's not a separate system, it's all built in together. Many of you may be using a third-party tool for this right now but they are not connected to your POS so this gives you everything in one, which just makes life so much easier.

Reach 🏪 You are no longer limited to foot traffic. Anyone in your area can discover your catalog and buy from you online, keeping your store is open around the clock to existing customers and new folks alike!
