I had a productive week in terms of app development.

Grove

I’m excited and partially relieved that I’m getting closer and closer to finishing my app, Grove. This has consumed me in the last couple of months and I’ve been adding features, fixing bugs and making improvements. I didn’t plan out a list of features to call it done for v1, so I kept adding features on a daily basis. The one big feature I want to add is widgets, and I still need to think about the UX. I’ve been having a lot of fun though.

In other news, with the help of Claude code I generated documentation for the app and then built a website for the Grove app. I made 2 attempts to hold that website and I wasn’t happy with it. I then used Claude Design to come up with UI mockups for the website. It’s all still in my local and I need to polish it up a lot more, like adding screenshots for dark and light modes. I’ll be spending the next week trying to finish that.

Expander Improvements

I added the smart punctuation feature that removes a space before a configured set of punctuations and adds it in front. Something that’s not configurable in GBoard which bothered me for many years.
