Football season is right around the corner, which means it’s officially time to start thinking about game-day food. And obviously, wings are at the top of that list. These Peach Barbecue Wings are the perfect end of summer recipe. The wings are nice and crispy, and tossed in a homemade peach barbecue sauce that’s sweet, tangy, smoky, and so SO good. Make these for the first game of the season, a watch party, or honestly any excuse to make wings. Just make sure to make a little extra sauce, it’s delicious on pork chops, salmon, barbecue chicken, or even just as a dipping sauce.

Tini’s Tips

  • Baking soda is my trick for getting the wings extra crispy in the oven.

  • If you don’t have a wire rack, don’t worry, you can bake them right on the parchment-lined sheet pan.

  • I use a smoky brown sugar for a little extra barbecue flavor, but regular brown sugar works too.

What You’ll Need

For the Wings

2 ½ lbs chicken wings

1 tablespoon baking soda

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon garlic powder

2 teaspoons Barbecue Seasoning

For the Peach Barbecue Sauce

4 peaches

1 cup ketchup

⅓ cup apple cider vinegar

¼ cup smoky brown sugar, or regular works great

2 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons hot sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons barbecue rub

1 tablespoon molasses

🍗 Step 1: Season the Wings

Add the chicken wings to a large bowl. Sprinkle with the baking soda, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and barbecue seasoning. Toss well until all of the wings are evenly coated in the seasoning.

Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the wings on the wire rack in a single layer. If you don’t have a wire rack, you can place the wings directly on the parchment-lined sheet pan.

Transfer the wings to the refrigerator while you make the peach barbecue sauce.

🍑 Step 2: Peel the Peaches

Bring a pot of water to a boil and prepare a separate bowl of ice water.

Cut a small X into the bottom of each peach. Carefully place the peaches into the boiling water and let them boil for about 30 to 45 seconds. Immediately transfer the peaches to the ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them sit until they are cool enough to handle.

Remove the peaches from the ice water and peel away the skins.

🥣 Step 3: Blend the Peaches

Cut the peeled peaches into pieces and remove the pits. Transfer the peaches to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the peach purée into a saucepan and cook for about 15 minutes.

🍯 Step 4: Make the Peach Barbecue Sauce

To the saucepan with the peach purée, add the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, honey, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, barbecue rub, and molasses.

Stir everything together until combined. Place the saucepan over the stove and let the barbecue sauce simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it has reduced by about 50% and thickened.

🔥 Step 5: Bake the Wings

While the barbecue sauce simmers, preheat the oven to 450°F. Transfer the wings from the refrigerator to the oven and bake for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, flip each wing and return them to the oven for another 20 minutes, or until the wings are cooked through and nice and crispy.

🍗 Step 6: Sauce the Wings

Transfer the crispy wings to a large bowl. Pour some of the peach barbecue sauce over the wings (you don’t need to use all of it) and toss until every wing is evenly coated.

Save any extra barbecue sauce in a jar in the refrigerator for later.

🍽 Step 7: Serve

Serve the peach barbecue wings warm and enjoy!

The extra peach barbecue sauce can be used with pork chops, salmon, barbecue chicken, or a dipping sauce.

Chipotle Chicken Salad With Mango Vinaigrette

·

Aug 20

This salad has everything I want in one bowl: smoky chipotle chicken, juicy mango, creamy avocado, sweet corn, and plenty of crunch. But, the mango vinaigrette is really the best part. It’s sweet, tangy, a little spicy, and I could honestly put it on just about anything. We’re not making boring salads over here.

How to Build a Better Salad

We all have a few random ingredients sitting in the fridge that don’t feel like enough to make an actual meal. But honestly, some of the best salads start that way. The trick is knowing how to bring everything together. In my opinion, a good salad needs a few key elements: a fresh base, a filling protein and carb, something creamy, something tangy, a fr…

Seared Sea Scallops with Corn and Tomato

·

Aug 14

Surprise! I’m sharing an exclusive first look at one of the recipes from my new cookbook, Today We Are Cooking…, ONLY on Substack. These seared sea scallops with corn and tomato are one of my favorite things to make during the summer, and one of my brothers’ most-requested recipes. The sweet corn and juicy tomatoes pair perfectly with the pan-seared scallops, especially when everything is fresh and in season.
