2026-04-16 (Leica Gallery) A new Leica store opened downtown. To celebrate the opening, they hosted a small gallery featuring photos of local Leica shooters. Edgar Corona, one of my favorite photographers was featured so I wanted to go see his photos and maybe meet him. The Leica store was very nice with some attractive displays of their cameras on the first floor, and the gallery on the second.…
2026-03-30 (Rogers Park) It was about 80 degrees today so I went for a walk after work. I’ve been watching more street photographers online (izzyfts, trevorwisecup) and watching how they take photos inspired me to get a bit out of my comfort zone and put my camera in people’s faces and see what happens. I still missed a few potentially cool shots out of fear and/or nervousness, but…
2026-03-25 (The Cessna) My friend Will, who I played with in School of Rock, is now in a band called The Cessna. I was invited to their first show at Bookclub Chicago. Usually I'm not very excited to go and stay out late on a week night, but I was looking forward to this show so I wasn't really feeling that this time. When I got to Bookclub, I met my friends and felt very welcome.
2026-03-23 Photos from around my neighborhood. I wanted to get some more practice and try to be a bit braver when it comes to taking photos of other people. I have been following izzyfts on Instagram for a bit and really like his style. I got this Kodacolor recipe from Fuji X Weekly (I’ll share my slightly-modified settings below) that I think looks like his recipes, and I tried to take some…
2026-02-10~03-14 (Austin) I went to Austin, Texas to hang out with my friend. He booked us a tour on Lady Bird Lake, which is really more of a river, to see the bats that live in the Congress Ave. Bridge. I happened to visit during SXSW which was pretty unfortunate as the flights were expensive and there was a lot of noise downtown, but we got to the lake just before sunset and were able to watch…
2025-12-31 (New Year's Eve) I took these when I went out to lunch with my friends on the eve of 2026. The photos are pretty overexposed. It was an overcast day and I used 800ISO film. I probably should have used something less sensative, but there were a few photos that turned out okay. This isn’t my proudest roll. Shot on Marix 800T.
2026-01-10~11 (Philadelphia) This was my third time going to Philly and also my third consecutive time attending Bubba Bash, a Musical Tribute to Neil Peart of Rush. Dispite having been to Philly for Bubba Bash before, this is the first time I spent any significant amount of time wandering around downtown and also the first time I brought a camera with me. I brought my Fujifilm X-T10, but unlike…
2025-11-23 (Waterfall Glen) I went to Waterfall Glen in Lemont Illinois for an autumn hike with my friends. We walked about 10 miles in total and had a lot of fun together. I’m proud that we made it through the whole path. Shot on Kodak UltraMax 400. Check out my digital photos from the same day: 2025-11-23 (Waterfall Glen)
2025-11-26 (Downtown Chicago) I took the day off to get some errands done and brought my camera along. I got some nice pictures of the city and the Christmas decorations that have been put up.
2025-01-20~03-14 (Lake Forest) I had a day off for MLK day and decided to go up to Lake Forest and try out some black & white film I bought. This was my first time trying B&W film and it looks like I overexposed most of the shots. Also, that day was a bad day to go out. It was so bitterly cold, I could barely stay outside for more than a few minutes.
2025-11-23 (Waterfall Glen) I went to Waterfall Glen in Lemont Illinois for an autumn hike with my friends. We walked about 10 miles in total and had a lot of fun together. I’m proud that we made it through the whole path. I usually stick to one film simulation recipie, but I’ve been wanting to shoot in B&W recently, so today I decided to try the monochrome recipie from Fuji X Weekly,…
2025-09-27 (CineStill Photowalk) I had found a 105mm Miranda Lens at Central Camera quite a while ago, but I hadn’t ever used it before. I decided I should take it out today and switch between it and my 35mm lens as a sort of “zoom”. I’m really glad that I did decide to bring it out. Because of the longer focal length, I was able to get closer up to the tops of buildings…
2025-09-27 (CineStill Photowalk) It was a beatuful day and band rehearsal was canceled so I decided to go out shooting. I got some wonderful shots and just as I was about to finish up while walking along the river, I noticed someone had a cool vintage camera, then I noticed another person, and another person. I realized that I had stumbled upon a photowalk event and asked someone about it. It…
2025-08-31 (Lake Forest) As has become tradition for me to do on days off, I took the Metra up to Lake Forest this Labor Day weekend. The last time I went to Lake Forest was on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but it was bitterly cold that day. I could hardly last a few minutes outside so I decided to come back in the summer to get some more pictures. There happened to be an art fair that weekend so I…
2025-09-24 (Downtown Chicago) I took these photos after work when I went downtown to drop off a roll of film at Central Camera Company. It was such a beautiful day. I wish I had brought another SD card so I could stay longer and keep taking photos. I should go downtown to take photos more often. Maybe I’ll shoot a roll of film next.
2025-09-14~15 (Andersonville) Inspired by taking photos the day before, I decided to go out again today while the weather is still nice and took some photos around Andersonville. I’m also including photos from the 15th when I went out around Andersonville again and shot another full SD card.
2025-07-20~09-13 It’s been a while since I went shooting. Since I’ve come back from Japan, I’ve fallen back into my regular habits and rituals, and I haven’t gone shooting very much. After taking a handful of photos in July, this SD card has practically been collecting dust until I decided to take it with me this weekend to go see Spinal Tap 2, and visit Central Camera to…
2025-07-06~18 Here are some photos from once I got back to Chicago. I have been taking photos a lot less frequently compared to when I was in Japan, but I’d like to get back to taking more.
2025-06-26~29 My last album before leaving Japan after my 3 month sojourn. Some of the pictures, like the helicopter, are from an American Indepencence Day celebration at Camp Zama on the 28th where my friend preformed.
2025-06-22~26 (Hanoi) After visiting Ho Chi Minh City, I spent a few days in Hanoi with my other friends. We didn’t go out too much aside from some cafes and parks, but I still managed to take a few nice pictures I think.
2025-06-21~22 (Ho Chi Minh City) I spent the weekend with my friend in District 7 of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Most of these were shot from the back of a moving motorbike which created some cool blur.
2025-06-14 (Hiroshima) I took a short 2-day trip to Hiroshima from June 14th to 15th. This is one of the places I’ve really wanted to visit for many years, and despite having been to Japan 4-5 times already, I never got around to going. I had a free weekend so I made a point of finally checking this destination off. After a 5 hour shinkansen ride from Tokyo, I arrived in Hiroshima with an…

2025-06-08~11 Here’s a few images mostly from around Asaka Station in Saitama, which is where I stayed while in Japan for 3 months. The ramen shop pictured is one of my favorite places to go. I ate there very frequently, and the staff recognized me and remembered my order every time I went there.
2025-06-08 (Tokyo Night & Light) I’ve been a fan of Godzilla from childhood and in the past few years I got back into Godzilla after getting the Criterion Showa Era Collection. I found out that There was an event in Shinjuku called Tokyo Night & Light where they project short films onto the side of the Metropolitan Government Building, including some featuring Godzilla. I was able to see two…
2025-06-08 (Ikebukuro) Some photos from around Ikebukuro. I was bored and had nothing to do so I decided to just walk around and see what I see. I ended up seeing a lot in Ikebukuro and shot a whole card in one day. Check out the film photos from the same trip here: 2025-06-08 (Ikebukuro)
2025-06-06~08 (Polysics) I saw Polysics for the second time this trip on June 6th. They were so much fun I had to see them twice! (The first time was on May 9th. It was fun but I couldn’t get any good pictures). The rest of these pictures are from June 8th.
2025-06-08 (Ikebukuro) Some photos from around Ikebukuro. I was bored and had nothing to do so I decided to just walk around and see what I see. I ended up seeing a lot in Ikebukuro and shot the whole roll much more quickly than I expected. Shot on Marix 400D. Check out the film photos from the same trip here: 2025-06-08 (Ikebukuro)
2025-06-04 (Ghibli Museum) Some photos I took on my way to the Ghibli museum. Shot on Fujifilm Superia Premium 400. Check out the digital photos from the same trip here: 2025-06-04 (Ghibli Museum)
2025-06-04 (Ghibli Museum) Some photos I took with my X-T10 and Utulens on my way to the Ghibli museum. Check out the film photos from the same trip here: 2025-06-04 (Ghibli Museum)
I took most of photos while on a trip to Yokohama for a baseball game. The rest were captured around my neighborhood in Saitama. Shot on my X-T10 with the Utulens (disposable camera lens). 2025-05-22 (Yokohama)
The first two photos are from the same day as my trip around the East-side of Tokyo 2025-05-03~11 and the rest are from a 05-20 when I visited the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT) and 05-22 when I went to Yokohama to attend a baseball game. Shot on Escura Edo Ukiyo-E 400. 2025-05-11~22 (MOT & Yokohama)
2025-05-11 (East of Tokyo) I went out to a few places East of Tokyo with my friends from Canada who live in Japan. They also shoot Fujifilm so they brought some of their own lenses and we swapped them around so these photos were shot on various lenses between the following: Fuji XF21mmF2, Fuji XF18mmF2 R, my Fuji XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6, and my Gizmon Utulens (disposable camera lens). You can see the…
2025-05-03~11 (Kawagoe & East of Tokyo) Most of these photos were taken on a daytrip to Kawagoe on the 3rd, and a few others were taken on a trip to some places East of Tokyo on the 11th. Shot on Ilford IlfoColor 400 Plus.
2025-05-03 (Kawagoe) I took these with the disposable camera lens on a day trip to Kawagoe. The 2GB SD card I mentioned in my last post failed towards the end of being full. I’m not exactly sure what happened but I got a message on my camera about a data error while saving a photo and after I turned the camera off and on again I saw there were no photos on the card.
2025-04-27 This is the first album that I shot with my X-T10. I used a 2GB SD card to limit myself to ~40 shots. I also got a Utulens by Gizmon from Amazon in Japan. It’s one of those disposable camera lenses. I put my shutter speed and iso on auto and used the camera like a disposable point-n-shoot. Between the limited storage space, the Fuji film simulations, and the lens, it was a fun bit…
2025-04-05~12 Similarly to the Yashica Ruby 60s film from 2025-03-22~25, this film is very desaturated so I unfortunately lost some great color I was hoping to capture, especially in some of the flowers I shot, but I do think I ended up with some nice photos in the end. Shot on Escura Showa Camera Film 400.
2025-04-12~13 (Synchronicity) Photos taken over the course of two days at Synchronicity 2025. The photos are spread across 2 rolls of film. One for each day. Shot on Marix 800T.
2025-03-22~25 This was the first roll I shot in my stay in Japan in the spring of 2025. I wanted to try a film stock I haven’t tried before but it turned out much less saturated than I expected it to so I lost a lot of the color I was trying to capture. I still ended up with a few nice photos still though. Photos span from 03-22-2025 to 03-25-2025.
Franpton I spent a few months in Tokyo in the spring of 2025. I didn't bring an instrument with me, but I did want to get one to use while I was here and bring back home. I had recently been interested in short-scale basses mainly from watching Philip Conrad videos on YouTube. He is a big fan of the Fender Mustang bass. I've tried a few at Chicago Music Exchange and really enjoyed them.
2025-04-05 (Hanami) Photos from Hanami (Flower Watching) on the Kurome River in Asaka, Saitama, Japan. (The first photo is from the night before) Shot with Marix 800T.
