Release 2026.08
Hi all,
RoPieee is an image for the Raspberry Pi devices (3, 4 and 5 family) that is capable of running several audio streaming solutions.
Hi all,
RoPieee + 1
This patch release addresses a persistent AirPlay 2 issue that arose with buffered streams following the last release. Additionally, RoPieee now includes support for the ‘L’ variant of the Raspberry Pi CM5 board.
Release Day!
Time for another release!
I’m excited to announce our first release of 2026! It has been some time since the last one.
Unfortunately Spotify changed something on their end (again), which resulted in failure when trying to play something. This patch release addresses that.
The 2025.10 update regrettably introduced a regression in UPnP functionality when used with DSD content. This was unexpected, as no apparent changes were made to UPnP. However, subsequent investigation identified an updated library as the underlying cause.
While this release may appear uneventful based on its changelog, with no flashy new features, I’ve been diligently working on significant under-the-hood refactoring. This essential work paves the way for a future feature, which I’ll keep under wraps for now 🙂
With 2025.08.1 Squeezelite discovery stopped functioning. After a week of digging I finally figured out it was a Linux kernel bug (very recent regression) that plagued us, so this release addresses that.
During the 2025.08 beta cycle, we encountered an MMC failure issue on a single user’s Pi 3 during boot. Despite affecting only one user, significant time was dedicated to debugging, though I couldn’t reproduce it myself. The reporting user’s assistance with additional testing was invaluable.
