RELAX AND RECEIVE

Jessica Goulding · ROOM to EVOLVE

This month’s Labyrinth Walk Companion is inspired by my conversation with Abi Robins and their description of working with the Enneagram and Yoga Therapy. One of my favorite things Abi said was “the more we can find ways to relax and shed our sense of urgency, the faster we get to where we want to go.” And although we were talking about figuring out Enneagram types, this immediately makes me think of walking a labyrinth.

One of the wisdom downloads I received from a walk a couple years ago, was the simple phrase, “it takes as long as it takes.” And that’s how it can feel when you’re walking a labyrinth. I find it’s easy to lose my sense of time in a labyrinth. If I’m feeling impatient, the path seems to take forever. If I’m at ease and going with the flow, I’m surprised at how quickly I find myself in the center. Also, when I rush into a labyrinth expecting some sort of result or seeking a certain experience, I am almost guaranteed a disappointing walk. This walk is intended as an antidote to that energy of hurry and expectation. Let’s tap into the true spirit of the labyrinth as a journey we walk slowly and mindfully, open to receive what is ours to receive.

If you are practicing from home, you can download a printable tracing labyrinth below. You can listen at Room to Evolve, or wherever you get your podcasts.

May you walk the labyrinth of your life with ease and receptivity, and may you benefit from the wisdom that comes from taking your time.

Much love,

Jessica
