For some reason, I was startled to find out that doves often visit our back deck. They don’t behave like most of the other birds. They walk different, they coo instead of chirping, they have very intense eyes and feather colors—and they really look like magnificently designed critters.
Which means they always look like they are rich bastards in tuxedoes slumming at our feeding stations. ;)
They flutter away as soon as you make a movement. They are fussy when other birds are around. Their heads bob forward and back as they walk. But in the end, what gets me is just how beautiful they are.
