Today we’re talking about Mizzou Football
Just like in the coaches’ poll, Mizzou Football will be ranked to start the season in the AP — as the Tigers check in at No. 25:
Per Eli Hoff, Missouri is ranked in the preseason for just the 12th time in program history (for those on Twitter who think Mizzou is ranked in the preseason every year).
The Tigers are one of nine SEC teams ranked — and Mizzou is set to play five of the top 10 teams on their schedule:
- vs No. 8 Texas A&M on October 10th
- at No. 9 Ole Miss on October 17th
- vs No. 5 Texas on November 7th
- at No. 3 Georgia on November 14th
- vs No. 10 Oklahoma on November 28th
The fanbase is excited for a loaded home slate as season tickets have been sold out for the third year in a row!

This is pretty much the only reason I follow NFL preseason.
When talking about the Tigers’ offensive line, Green is the player to have the most confidence in heading into 2026. He earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2025 at left tackle in a year when he earned an 89.6 pass-blocking grade and 78.2 run-blocking grade per Pro Football Focus. Impressively, this comes a year after he transitioned from guard to tackle, which is not easy for any player. Nevertheless, he enters 2026 as a preseason All-SEC tackle and one of the best in the SEC. He’s the cornerstone of the offensive line, which is key for a unit with changes.
Mizzou needs a big season from Cayden Green.
Coach Dawn Sullivan saw improvement in Missouri’s first exhibition and, more importantly, progress within the week.
“I liked the growth they showed within the first week,” Sullivan said
Mizzou Volleyball took care of business in their exhibition against Drake.
Missouri is selling Columbia as a place where international players can develop as both athletes and students. Higuita Barraza spoke to this when commiting to Mizzou, saying, “I chose Mizzou because it’s high-level in both athletics and academics. I value competing at the Division I level while getting a strong education. The trust the coaches showed in me gives me confidence that Mizzou is the right place to keep growing as an athlete and student.”

The team has come a long way since the first day of fall camp. While most starting positions are not confirmed, rotations are beginning to become clear. There are only a few practices left until Drinkwitz will name the team’s starters for the 2026 season.
