If you’ve spent more than five minutes on Twitter/X lately, you’ve seen it: the purple gradients, the “while you sleep” promises, and the “trusted by 5,000+ teams” on a domain registered yesterday.
I just found shitfa.st, and it’s the reality check we all need. It’s a site dedicated to roasting the most egregious startup tropes with surgical precision.
Here are two roasts that actually made me spit out my coffee:
The Eurotoolkit roast is a masterpiece. They promise “Zero Compliance Worries,” but the site is just a 12-page directory of... more things to worry about.
It’s a grid of whistleblower systems, cookie banners, and ESG reporting tools.
It doesn’t remove the worries; it just alphabetizes them. It’s the most “EU” thing I’ve ever seen - turning bureaucratic dread into a filterable gallery.
Then there’s Outrank.so. The roast points out that the landing page is basically “AI Prompt Residue.” It’s got all the classics: “Grow organic traffic on Auto-Pilot” and the mandatory “while you sleep” subheader.
But the real kicker? The roast notes that the page doesn’t even need to be good because the founder has a massive following. In the indie world, some founders are simply “more equal” than others. The product proof isn’t the code; it’s the person.
If you or I shipped a page with a blacked-out video and floating UI chips, we’d be laughed off the internet. But for the elite? It’s “minimalist.”
As an indie maker, it’s easy to get caught up in the “perfect” landing page trap. But shitfa.st reminds us that half of what we see is just “Elite Slop.”
If you’re looking to build something that actually stands out (without the cringe), maybe skip the purple gradient for once. Or, if you’re like me and just want to ship, use a solid boilerplate like Supastarter but actually, you know... add a product.
What’s the cringiest landing page you saw this week? Reply and let me know.

Thanks for reading, and till next week!
