I’ve had a few stories along these lines percolating for a while now. In one of my many notebooks, I have a full on heist story all plotted out. I just dont know where that specific book is. Ill go looking for it one day and actually do a proper heist story. In the meantime, there is this one.
The larger idea here is yet to come, but the item in question comes and goes out of popular knowledge. Rumours, innuendo and gossip keep the item “alive,” so to speak and each appearance of it sparks a new rush to get it back, with someone “succeeding,” only to have it taken from them in turn.
We are early in this cycle here, with this being the “first1” theft. As the story progresses, we learn more about the artifact until its ultimate conclusion. But to get there, we need to establish l o r e. More work for Rob.
