Hello, hello, hello!
If you’ve been reading my posts for a while, you’ll know the last time I wrote was back in June – specifically on June 10th if you’ve been obsessively counting the days since I last wrote for some reason.
In that post, I wrote about how I needed a break. I said I’d be back in late July/early August, but considering it’s early September, you can probably tell that didn’t quite go to plan. 😅
The biggest reason behind my extended departure is simply that I’ve been busy – all with good things, fortunately. I’ve been having a grand old time living it up this summer, doing all the usual things like getting ice cream and soaking up the sun. This summer I was able to go to a couple concerts in town, visit my folks, and go for lots of running and weight-lifting sessions!
Aside from being busy, the other part keeping me away from Substack is the realization that I don’t want to be writing once a week anymore.
I love writing for everyone and seeing what everyone’s up to, but looking back, I probably took things a bit too seriously. I thought forcing myself to write once a week would make me a better writer, especially with fiction. But instead, it just made me tired and had me dreading the thought of having to get back on the creative treadmill when all I wanted was to take a break. So, instead of getting back in the game, I kept pushing it off…
Until I realized I don’t have to write once a week!
Now that I’m back, I’m planning to have a much more lax schedule. I’m going to try to write at least once a month – maybe even more – but I don’t want to force anything. It’s going to be a quick rundown of my life and some fiction I’ve written over the years and dug up – just for you!
In short: do expect to hear from me, just not as often.
For now, I’ll leave you with a couple photos of what I’ve been up to lately; tune in next time for a rundown and some fiction!
PS: For those that have supported me despite my absence, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Here’s a few things you can do:
Like my post & leave a comment (I love each and every comment and do my best to respond!)
Share my posts with friends/families/lovers/enemies/aliens/bigfoot/etc.
No matter how big or small the amount, any and all tips will be appreciated! As a consolation of my gratitude, anyone who contributes any amount will have their name displayed at the bottom of my newsletter for all of 2025 (Unless you want to be anonymous, which is fine too!)
My newsletter will never cost money, but your tips help me continue to work on this project and, with enough donations, even grow it too!
A shoutout to my supporters this year:
