Might as well kick off #nanoblomo 2021 with some mundanity because that’s sure as sure can be how it’ll end up … in about a week.
Highlight of today has been installing Arch Linux on a Beelink SER3 (16GB, Ryzen 7, 512GB) to replace an old Pi 3 Model B+ and also to move the local Minecraft server off the Windows 10 games/ML machine.
Still surprised by how fiddly it is and how scattered the installation guide is - whilst I appreciate the panoply of choices, it would be great to have something that said “there’s loads of choices but this is what we recommend as a simple install” in a nice, simple, linear document. If you need 4 open tabs for the “configure your network” section of the installation guide, people are not going to have fun.
