Dearest readers of Rising in Love, something very close to my heart has just arrived, and I am over the (full) moon about it:
Creating a new-year calendar from photos taken throughout the year past is one of my favorite Solstice rituals, for it is an opportunity to remember the year through the lens of nature.
In reviewing photos from 2025, I was surprised to find that even on the darkest days, the beauty of the natural world was holding me in the most loving embrace. Nature was a steadfast companion, shining quiet radiance in every moment…even if I couldn’t see it at the time.
As we collectively experienced more than a few dark days in 2025, this revelation brought me great solace — I hope it does for you too.
When creating this year’s spread, there were many places that wanted to be shared, so it took me a while to alight upon the final choices. Heeding nudges from the nature spirits helped me narrow it down though, and I feel confident that these photos represent 2025’s most luminous moments.
This year, I was also nudged to include poems channeled in the places showcased by the photos. This proved to be trickier, for the best photos did not always line up with my favorite poems! Ultimately I decided that only the poems referencing a specific place would be paired with a photo of that place, while the others would be matched to appropriate photos by tone and mood.
Finally, a poignant addition: due to the passing of a beloved member of our Rising in Love community this past June, I very much wanted to pay homage to the wonderful, generous, open-hearted women who have shared this journey with me over the past two years. We have written, laughed, cried and wandered together, experiencing beauty and embracing the mystery while held in nature’s most nurturing embrace. Thus it seemed fitting that the back cover be devoted to this extraordinary group of women and our adventures together.
If you would like to experience this year in photos and poems co-created by nature and yours truly, I’d be most honored to share this calendar with you.
Calendar includes twelve 11x8 full-color images and color-coordinated months with a poem accompanying each month. All photos and poetry are a co-creation of Carrie Dancing Bear and Nature herself.
Calendars are $35 (this price includes tax and shipping).
Your purchase directly supports my photography and writing.
For every calendar purchased, a tree is planted by the printer.
I am grateful to each of you for the gift of your readership and support this past year. Thank you for believing in this endeavor and for being a part of this beautiful community — truly, we are rising in love with the natural world.
With great love and gratitude,
Carrie & the Nature Beings 💜🌲☀️
