The recent appearance of Anthony Fauci before the Senate Homeland Security Committee and his refusal to answer any questions, citing the Fifth Amendment 110 times (and subsequently found in contempt of Congress) has come a shock to many.

Reactions have ranged from ‘I had no idea’ to ‘they are using him as a scapegoat to protect others’. Indeed there are reports of several doctors writing in to defend him!

The release at the end of last month by Senator Rand Paul of more than 1,000 pages of Fauci’s personal typewritten diary and note entries he kept on government computers spanning late 2019 through 2022, detailing pandemic decision-making, virus origin debates, relations with Trump, and Fauci’s tracking of his own media profile, elicited the response from Fauci that this was invasive and humiliating.
