I used to be a Talenti evangelist. I would not shut up about the creamy gelato that came in a fancy plastic tub when it hit my local grocery store in the early 2010s.
And so, in the name of journalism, I committed myself to tasting an awful lot of Talenti gelato to figure out if the flavors I once loved had changed — or if I had.
Thirty-four pints later, here’s what I learned.
If we allow ice cream eaters to live on a spectrum, I land far right. A pint is not a treat, it’s a daily meal. Choosing a restaurant for the evening means double-checking that there’s an ice cream joint nearby.
I love pieces written like this. Take a topic with a spectrum from non-eaters to evangelists, and write in a way that intrigues and entertains everyone. Long one, but worth it.
