Hello captioneers!

Summer is in full swing, and Round 10(!) will be here before you know it. In the meantime, I took a quick poll of some of our previous contest champions to see which entries from other artists were their favorites — here’s what they had to say.

“For one, I really appreciate her drawing style. It’s loose and confident while still being very detailed, and it’s something I admire and study in my own work. This particular cartoon is right up my alley. I think straight-faced characters and awkward interactions make for wonderful single panel cartoons.”

“Delightfully silly, and something about it being on a sticky note really adds.”

“‘I never know what to do with my hands’ winner, David Rey, has given us another gem. Fidgeting is universally relatable, but in the context of a soccer match, it’s playful and hilarious. I adore how cheerful the cartoon protagonist is as he knits away while preparing to kick a ball. It’s simple in delivery and immediately funny.”

“I am a sucker for comics that are utterly ridiculous and this one checks that box.”

It’s hard to believe we’re already approaching Round 10! Who’d have thought that three years later, we’d be nine rounds in with over 150 artists contributing incredible, hilarious cartoons. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
