Most checkout systems treat every customer the same. At iWallet, we’ve been thinking a little differently.

Historically, a customer who always pays by text sees the same options as someone who always uses a stored credit card. A customer who has ignored a QR code ten times still gets shown the QR code on the eleventh visit. Someone who always uses a linked bank account still has to select it every time.

In other words, the checkout process — especially for contractors — is broken and/or boring.

RepairAI’s Adaptive Checkout Engine is designed to change that.

Our patent covers a payment system that learns how individual customers behave during checkout, then uses that history to change what they see the next time they pay.

The basic idea is simple: checkout should remember you.

If a customer consistently ignores QR codes and chooses SMS, the system can stop pushing QR and make SMS the primary option. If another customer always pays with a stored Visa, the system can put that card first. If a customer regularly uses a linked bank account, that account can become the default funding source.

The system can learn from far more than the final payment choice. It can consider how quickly someone pays, whether they abandon checkout, how often a payment must be retried, which authentication method they prefer, which device they use, and when they tend to pay.

It can also account for context. A customer’s behavior may differ depending on the merchant, branch, contractor, or time of day.

RepairAI can then use that information to change the checkout itself. That can include which communication channel is used, how the customer authenticates, which payment methods appear first, the order of the payment process, the interface, and even the messages shown to the customer.

The key distinction is what the system is trying to improve.

Most payment technology focuses on processing the transaction faster, routing it more efficiently, or reducing payment failures. The Adaptive Checkout Engine focuses on the customer’s interaction with checkout.

Every completed, abandoned, or retried checkout becomes another signal about how that customer prefers to pay.

Over time, the payment process gets shorter and more familiar because the system stops asking questions it already knows the answer to.

The core patent concept is a payment system that dynamically modifies future checkout workflows based on previously observed customer checkout behavior.

For iWallet, that could mean fewer abandoned payments, fewer unnecessary steps, and a checkout process that gets better each time a customer uses it. We know what works and what doesn’t. That’s why iWallet is pushing the envelope when it comes to all things payments.
