Rena George · Rena Writes

Hello from the Writing Room.

January was wild, with its storms, snow, rain - and all those floods! Not a welcome start for the new year.

But it’s gone now, and we look forward to the future.

February has arrived! …The month of romance, St Valentine’s Day – and another step closer to Spring, and the cheer of those dancing daffodils in our gardens.

For fans of handsome, sometimes grumpy Highland detective, DI Jack Drummond, even more intriguing times are ahead.

I’m thrilled to finally share Taken with you. It’s grittier, faster, and Jack is... well, Jack.

In the world of DI Jack Drummond, nothing is ever as it seems. His newest case will push him to the edge. Will you be there when he crosses it?

Here’s a sample of some early 5 Star Reviews for Taken.

OMG, there is so much going on! DI Drummond and his team are trying to solve two cold-case murders from three years ago, when they are also tasked with a missing person case for a local man with “second sight.” Was Bairn Knox kidnapped or did he just walk away, or worse? And then there is Saffron. Drummond will not be forgetting about her any time soon. Love the locations that are described and Drummond has a solid (well, mostly!) team working for him. There are several references to the past but enough description to get you caught up if you haven’t read all the books. And the epilogue!! Ms George, you better get writing, I need the next book!

I can’t say enough good things about this book. Ms. George really knows how to craft a good police procedural. Did Bairn Knox disappear voluntarily or was he kidnapped? It is the duty of Inspector Jack Drummond and his colleagues, Kes and Nick, to find out. I highly recommend this book to other police procedural readers. I received an ARC of this book, and the opinion expressed is strictly my own.

Get ready for the Man, the Mystery, and the Mayhem!

Now settle back and enjoy that ride…

Call a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, run an errand for a family member or friend who is busy, compliment someone that you talk to today.

Even the smallest gesture can brighten someone’s day.

Each February 17th there is a Random Acts of Kindness Day, where people are encouraged to do these acts of kindness.

When you do something nice for someone else, your brain releases “feel-good” chemicals that can lower stress levels and make you feel happier.

But beyond the science, kindness builds trust. When we look out for each other, our neighborhoods and workplaces feel safer and more welcoming. It reminds us that we are all on the same team.

Although we’re calling this a Valentine’s Giveaway, the FREE books on offer this month are not strictly romances. Murder, Mystery and Meyhem is still very much to the fore in this collection of Cozy Mysteries. My fellow authors have joined me to offer well over a bumper 100 FREE books for you to browse through and select your favourites.
