Christmas always reminds me of a certain nursery nativity play, and my tiny granddaughter, swathed in tea towels, toddling onto the stage clutching Baby Jesus. I swallowed the lump in my throat as the audience of mums, dads and grandparents gave out an ‘ah’ in unison.
My pride knew no bounds. That nativity play was years ago, but I’ve never forgotten it. I have four amazing grandchildren now - and my pride in them continues to swell.
But the seasonal sparkle, the presents and all that sumptuous food isn’t really what this time of year is about for me.
Christmas is for saying thanks if we are lucky enough to be surrounded by family, friends and people who care for each other.
Happy Christmas Everyone!
It doesn’t feel long ago that I was an aspiring author hoping my first novel, A Cornish Revenge, might find a few readers when it was published in 2013.
Since then readers have given it thousands of mostly five star reviews and ratings. Not only did they like that first Loveday Mystery…THEY LOVED IT!
According to Amazon, readers found the Cornish mystery to be a gripping read with an easy-to-follow narrative, well-developed characters, and lots of plot twists to keep everyone guessing. The book received positive feedback for its writing quality and pacing, with customers also highlighting the detailed descriptions of the coastline.
Apologies for sounding boastful, but this was everything I’d hoped for and I was thrilled. Soon that book was followed by another, and another, until there were 15 books in the Loveday series with number 16 on the way.
But read that first book for yourself. A Cornish Revenge is free here!
Note to my ARC Team - I’ve been busy finishing off the latest DI Jack Drummond thriller, Taken. It will be on its way for your perusal early in January. So keep an eye on your inbox dear readers. I’m very excited about this new book and can’t wait to hear what you think of it.
We couldn’t sign off without offering you this final selection of more than 70 free books for 2025. There’s something here for everyone and our hope is that you will discover a wonderful new author to follow through the coming year and beyond.
Wishing a joyous holiday time to you and yours.
And if you celebrate Christmas, or if you don’t, have a peaceful December 25 and a wonderful, successful New Year.
Happy Reading everyone.
