Your gifts were made to flow (not to be carried alone)

Every time someone asked me, “Oh, how did you learn what you do? Which teacher? How did you even get on this path?” I’d freeze.

I’d go utterly blank because I wouldn’t know how the hell to answer. Also, the feeling always has been, “A series of unprecedented events led to this. How much time do you have?” lol.

For years, it felt like I had to get some certification or accreditation to say, “Hey, here’s a certificate to prove what I do! Trust me!!!”. Even had a love-hate relationship with Trauma-certified coaches, or accredited ones (not them, just their bios). But even the thought of getting one brought so much friction that I never did.

Here’s the thing: I didn’t have words for the emotions and feelings I have now. I was simply going on a journey, sharing it with souls along the way. I know that today.

Then comes the inevitable follow-up question: “How can we develop or learn this skill? Or enter into this?

I never used to know how to answer that either. And probably, the fact that they were interested in itself was a sign. But recently, in a conversation with a beautiful soul friend, it became crystal clear: our gifts aren't a skill to be managed, but it’s a core energy meant to flow through every part of our lives.

It’s not a skill. Well, it is, and it isn’t (??). It’s the essence of who you are, almost like the five senses. You don’t learn to breathe; you just do.

Yes, of course we spend a long time coming to realise that what comes so naturally to us IS a gift, seeing it for what it truly is, fighting with it, coming to terms with it, or learning to trust it—but it’s always there. Fighting our gifts is like locking ourselves in a dark room just to avoid feeling our senses.

It’s like going to the gym. The more we practice it, the more integrated it gets with our body, and the more we prepare our bodies to hold it. And with every wave of activation, it’s like leveling up. And there are always people or incidents in our lives that the universe lets us experience to show us a mirror, to help us remember or help us when we genuinely need it.

I’m not saying there’s no learning involved. In many cases, there is! Hey, I don’t know who I’d have been without my Shamanism training. But even with those, it’s like the right energies gets into you, activates your remembrance and stays with you forever.

People often talk about learning to “control” their gifts. As though it’s an on and off button. For me, at least, I haven’t been able to. It just happens. I can’t control what washes over me. I can decide what to do with it once it arrives, though, but even then, there is always an itch/confusion if I try to hold it back.

And when I did try to control it once? When I unknowingly stopped energy from flowing through me?

It resulted horribly.

I was constantly sick, one way or the other. Whether it was a horrible muscle pull, the worst cold I’d had in years, or just not being able to connect with my soul the way I used to. It was like losing the best part of myself.

Looking back, I was still connected, but the connection seemed so foggy and frizzy. It felt like I was levitating—not being able to touch the ground, but still being able to see it. This constant feeling of ungroundedness persisted. It felt like the Shruthi of five years ago had been forced into today’s body.

I didn’t even realize what was happening at the time.

It wasn’t until two months later that my partner reminded me that all my physical symptoms exactly matched the moment I had tried to force that energy away in a bout of desperation. My body was physically rebelling against the dam I had built.

It’s not that I’m scared of trying to control it now. I know in my bones that I had to experience that physical backfire to learn the lesson. I’m also listening to my soul more to connect with the energies flowing more deeply and learning to use it.

Today, surrendering to the current feels like ME in the fullest sense.

The gifts still arrive in phases. There was a time when I used to feel so attached to the phases of gifts arriving and completely detested the phases when they seemed lacking. I witnessed them as low and high moments.

But they weren’t. They were moments of activation and integration.

There was never a lack of connection. I was always connected. Sometimes, my body just had to be prioritized so it could catch up with the energy. That’s all.

For a long time, I thought this friction was just about my internal gifts. But then I realized we do the exact same thing to our work and businesses.

We build a dam there too.

Often, when we think about business, we think either/or. Either we need to carry the whole mountain on our shoulders, or we need to be working in a 9-to-5 spilling our guts out. But there are so many magnificent variations in between.

Many of us spiritual, highly sensitive, neurodivergent souls aren’t meant to become solo business owners carrying everything alone in a silo. Putting too much pressure on yourself to find the souls you work with entirely on your own will only hurt you.

It’s a big fucking myth. Our ancestors never did it alone.

Circles of women (and men) around the world are meant to come together to put in our gifts like different pieces of a puzzle to amplify them. As our gifts evolve, our work is meant to flow and evolve too. It was never meant to be boxed up. The energies from your various pursuits are meant to flow into one another and pull each other up.

Everything aligned, synchronized, like a dance, you know?

Working with communities, organizations, and teaming up with people who feel absolutely damn right in your bones is the way to go for this next phase of life & collective conciousness.

Curiosity, excitement and joy. Those are the words that keep returning again and again.

The universe is pouring an abundance of opportunities around you. We just need to keep our eyes and ears open and follow the nudges. It could be someone randomly mentioning something, an Instagram reel, an ad, coming across pamphlets in your local bookstore or cafe... it could literally be anything and everything.

Recently, out of the blue, I came across an in-person women’s community run by a gorgeous soul on Instagram. Within ten minutes, I checked her profile and filled out the whole application process. We had our first meetup a few weeks ago, and it felt like feminine energy at its highest peak. It was gorgeous.

A week later, I felt a soul nudge to ask her to host a circle where women can fully express their sexual and emotional traumas—just a safe space to rage, cry, laugh, emote, anything and everything that comes through.

Running an in-person meetup had been on my bucket list for so long, but I just didn’t know how to do it until now. Suddenly, it felt like the universe had opened up an avenue without me having to force or build a massive structure on my own.

Many of us spiritual, highly sensitive, neurodivergent souls aren’t meant to become full-time business owners in the new world. Putting too much pressure on yourself to find the souls you work with on your own will only hurt you.

A balance is needed.

The point is to not fit yourself into a “resume.” It’s to get mind-bogglingly creative with how you approach life and work. Your soul knows. She’ll nudge you. Follow her.

It could be as simple as writing a deeply personalized essay. Making it more visual. Asking a friend to refer you by writing a few lines about you. There are no rules here, my friend. This next phase of our journey asks us to completely come out of the closet with our wacky, weird-ass, whimsical, creative, spiritual self, fully.

Do not hold back. The world will catch up with you. And those who don’t will automatically fall away.

Your voice and energy need to get out.

Take a deep breath here. Unclamp your jaw, drop your shoulders, and feel the weight of your feet on the floor. You don’t have to carry the mountain today.

P.S.: If you’re feeling that itch—that undeniable pull that your gifts are ready to move, but you’re feeling blocked on how to translate them into your work without burning out or suppressing yourself, I’m here for it.

This space is designed to guide you to recognise + remember your gifts for what they are, clear the energetic cobwebs, reconnect deeply with your soul, and let your work evolve naturally.

If you feel a soul nudge to uncover what’s waiting for you, you can explore working together 1:1 here. Or DM, if that feels more comfortable.
