Money scares most people.
Some people say they want to have more money, yet they also resent “those people” who have lots of money. With 11 kids in our family, money was tight. The only people we were allowed to look down on were the ones that had money.
Too many people treat the word rich like a dirty word. To them, rich people are bad or greedy or lucky. The world was divided into two parts: the haves and the have none.
We were the have-nots. Only we really weren’t. We always had everything we needed; we just didn’t have most of what we wanted.
My thinking about money kept me stuck. I didn’t feel worthy of money or wealth or nice things. Shame kept me from attracting them. The words rich and money felt unholy. I didn’t want to become “those” people.
What about abundance?
That word felt right. I believe there is abundant love and goodness to go around for everybody. Money simply allows you to have more choices and to be more generous. Once I started to believe I was worthy of abundance, it flowed into my life.
An abundant life is one that is so rich, you love sharing all you have with others.
Question to ask myself:
How am I resisting abundance coming into my life today?
Affirmation to repeat:
I am God’s beloved rich child. I have a right to an abundant life right now.
Action to take:
Collect all the money you can find, all that change from your coat pockets, purse, wallet, couch cushions, car seat, and floor, and set it in a sacred spot. Then give thanks for all the abundance you already have. Start small.
