This is the 300th episode of the Refuse Fascism podcast.
Three hundred episodes of sounding the alarm, telling the truth about where this is going, and bringing you the voices of people who have studied fascism, resisted it, and lived through its consequences.
And this milestone comes at an extraordinarily dangerous moment. Fascism is not only here in power - Trump and his regime are barreling ahead, moving to rig and steal the 2026 elections, rapidly consolidating the power and machinery to crush opposition and lock fascist rule into place.
That makes what we do here—and what you do with it—matter.
To everyone who has listened, shared, supported, challenged us, and learned alongside us over these 300 episodes: thank you. We’re deeply grateful you’re here.
And if this podcast has mattered to you—if it’s helped you understand what we’re facing, introduced you to voices you needed to hear, or strengthened your determination to politically defeat Trump MAGA fascism—mark our 300th episode by helping us keep doing what this moment demands.

We didn’t start this podcast because we wanted to spend hundreds of episodes talking about fascism. We started it because fascism had to be stopped.
And now, as Trump moves to rig and potentially steal the elections and lock fascist rule into place, the point isn’t to make it to episode 400.
The point is to change the course of history.
On this episode Sam talks to scholar and activist Dr. Scott Kurashige, author of the new book American Peril: The Violent History of Anti-Asian Racism about how anti-Asian racism has shaped America, American identity, and the American Fascism that we now face.
“This is a must-read book to understand the multifaceted history of anti-Asian violence not only as individual attacks but through the context of war, militarism, imperialism, capitalist exploitation, and the postindustrial urban crisis. Through captivating storytelling, Kurashige uses his decades of knowledge as scholar and activist to resist the violence of erasure of Asian American activism and of anti-Asian racism itself.” —Diane C. Fujino, author of Heartbeat of Struggle: The Revolutionary Life of Yuri Kochiyama

Sam also discusses the latest attacks on birthright citizenship and the confirmation of AG Todd Blanche. It’s hard to keep up with the fascism that is unfolding as the Trump MAGA regime and party bid to consolidate a new form of governance atop the United States. Here are just three of the important recent developments in the accelerating Trump fascist assault on humanity…. Catch up with Paul Street’s weekly column.
