REDUXX WEEKLY ROUNDUP: December 8 - 15

As a new Monday approaches, we are back to get you caught up on all the news that will confirm your bias.

This past week, we were on a slight hiatus due to an illness on the Reduxx team, and as we creep closer to the holidays, things may slow down a tiny bit just to give every contributor a chance to enjoy the season with their families. But fear not, we are always at the ready and will continue to publish throughout as we always have!

This past week, we were shocked to learn that a trans activist with a disturbing history was named one of Brazil’s “women of the year.” Erika Hilton may be a familiar nam to some regular Reduxx readers - he is the Brazilian politician who relentlessly pursued Isabella Cepa for “misgendering him” to the point where Cepa was facing 25 years in prison for “criminal transphobia.”

Cepa ultimately escaped Brazil and was granted asylum in Europe earlier this year. Yes. That’s right. The state prosecution she experienced was considered so severe that she officially became the first person granted political protection on the basis of her opposition to gender ideology.

Needless to say, Cepa was rather confused by the news of Hilton’s “women of the year” honor.

An internationally recognized women’s magazine has named a trans-identified male politician as one of it’s “women of the year,” even after he gained notoriety for attempting to have a woman imprisoned for “misgendering him.”

A boy has won a girls’ Irish dancing title for the third year in a row, prompting backlash from women’s rights advocates. Elias “Alyssa” Saltzman took first place in the girls’ U16 solo category at the 2025 Southern Region Oireachtas last Sunday, representing his latest win in a female category.
