Imagine, the hubris of publishing one's thoughts

I have few thoughts, fewer every day, and far, far fewer thoughts that are worth writing down, and by the time we get to the thoughts that are of such quality that I might publish them on the internet we’re down to one or two a year, and that’s if I’m having a really good year. But, I didn’t write the functionality for the blog index page to display no posts, so something has to be here or I’ll have wasted an afternoon deciding what flavour of markdown I like the best.

I don’t know what I’ll be publishing here, or if I will ever publish anything beyond this single post. I don’t know who the audience is. What is it that you’re reading? Why are you here? All these answers and more, found right here.
