Thoughts on Richard Sharpe Shaver as an artist and author?

I read “I Remember Lemuria” after learning about Shaver and his genuine belief in the worlds he wrote of (as in he claimed them as historical accounts or past memories), and while I found some of the concepts and ideas interesting, the story itself and characters were very bland in my opinion.
