Is being charged two different sales tax legal?

Michigan. I went to the fair and got a candy bag. I realized that : I was paying sales tax on food. This one may be legal as its at a vendor not grocery store? My sales tax was way higher than 6 percent. They gave me my reciept reluctantly but told me they don't set the prices and can't help me with refunds or adjustments. Upon looking at it, i was charged both 6% and 8.5% in sales tax. Is this…
