I would really appreciate the advice. My roommate invited me to come with her to her grandmother's/mother's house for a few days. I have gone there before and brought my dog. It is an old "self made" farm house in the country. It is surrounded by fields and streams. My dog loves playing in the streams and visiting. My biggest concern currently is the risk of lyme disease. My dog is up to date on…

I wish I could attach a video but I'll do my best to describe what's happening. My house has 2 cats, two sphynx's, one completely bald, one with fuzzy hair. The completely bald one, Yoda, has had a couple of coughing incidents. He grooms the fuzzy cat, George, who has not had any coughing incidents. My parents think it's just a hairball, but Yoda has not excreted anything from his mouth/nose. What…

My cat has been experiencing sensitivity (or pain?) on his lower back for more than a month now. When we pet him in the area, his muscles twitch and he would react like this (see video). It's hard to tell if he's in pain as he doesn't make a noise, act aggressively or try to bite us when we pet him there. His appetite, energy, playfulness and bowel movements are all normal. We've taken him to…

11, French bulldog, male, neutered, otherwise healthy/no previous conditions. What could this mean? What would you typically think when seeing this result. All other blood work was normal slight elevation in kidney markers, physical exam was good. He had a seizure earlier in the week, and now has stopped eating. He is otherwise acting normal. I’ve done an additional blood test for 4dx. Waiting for…

My cat had been diagnosed leukopenia 5 days ago, in the same blood report AST and ALT values were within normal range. He was given injections to treat the leukopenia and was given an iron supplement. The latest report shows that AST is 200+ IU/L and ALT is 500+ IU/L, significantly above the lab range. I’m worried because the vet did not mention it when we went over the report. Could anyone please…

Hi there, I have a sealpoint domestic medium hair cat who is 5 years old and neutered, and up to date on vaccines. He recently (about two days ago) started squinting a bit on one side. It went away, so I didn’t think it was a big deal, but it’s been swollen on and off now everyday for at least a little while. No discharge, no redness of the actual eye, no goop of any kind, just kind of pink…

My cat, and beloved best friend, unexpectedly passed a away yesterday, and im looking for some closure. Gilbert was a 6yr old male, neutered, vaccine current, shorthair orange tabby mix. He was in general good health. He just his yearly vet check up in July. Was told all was normal, strong heartbeat. Some plaque/tartar to watch. May be due for dental in 2027. He weighed 17lbs, so was told to work…

My 14-year-old cat (~6.5 lb) has small-cell lymphoma/IBD and hyperthyroidism. She takes chlorambucil and daily budesonide. About 2 weeks ago, she stopped eating Hill’s z/d after a vomiting flare, so our vet switched her to Hill’s i/d wet food. Her appetite improved immediately and she’s now eating around 130–150 calories/day. Since switching, her stools have become much smaller and firmer , and…
