Recoal's Office Visit & Apéro

This week, we opened the doors of our Zurich office to host an apéro for members of the Swiss Carbon Removal Platform. It was meant to be relaxed, and it was. It was also thoughtful, curious, and full of conversations that reminded us why this community matters so much.

Over drinks and small bites, familiar faces mixed with new ones. People came from very different professional paths, and yet everyone had found their way into carbon removal in one form or another. The discussions reflected that diversity. They moved easily from technical details to policy questions, from market realities to personal motivations for working in this field.

Carbon removal is still a young space, especially when it comes to deployment at scale. Formal meetings, reports, and panels are important, but so are moments where people can speak openly, compare notes, and challenge assumptions without an agenda or a slide deck.

These informal settings make it easier to see where perspectives align, where they differ, and where collaboration might naturally emerge. For us at Recoal, hosting this apéro was a way to contribute to that connective tissue within the Swiss CDR ecosystem.

What stood out most to us was the shared sense of purpose, even across very different backgrounds. Researchers, founders, policy thinkers, and practitioners all brought something distinct to the table. That mix is a strength, and it is one we believe Switzerland is particularly well positioned to cultivate.

We are grateful to everyone who joined, shared their experiences, and helped shape the evening through conversation. A special thank you goes to the CDR Swiss team for making the gathering run smoothly behind the scenes.

We are looking forward to many more conversations, collaborations, and yes, more apéros, as this community continues to grow.
