We are happy to share that Recoal won second place at the Impact Accelerator Award 2025, hosted at Rocket Day in Zurich. The event brought together some of Switzerland’s most promising startups working on climate and sustainability solutions.
Out of sixty applications, ten finalists were invited to present their work at Zurich’s Kraftwerk for a full day of pitching, collaboration, and co-creation. The jury scored projects on innovation, feasibility, and potential for real-world impact. Recoal received 7.4 points, taking close second place behind Alligator Systems, whose technology to electrify truck logistics secured first place.
Rocket Day is more than a pitch competition. The organizers, EBP Ventures, created a hands-on format where startups worked directly with over four hundred EBP experts from across fields such as mobility, energy, environment, and circular economy. Teams received focused mentoring before returning to the stage with refined concepts and sharper business models.
This experience gave us valuable feedback from professionals who deeply understand the challenges of scaling climate technologies. It was a day filled with ideas, constructive discussions, and genuine enthusiasm for building solutions that matter.
Finishing among the top teams at Rocket Day reinforces our confidence in Recoal’s mission to deliver reliable carbon removal through hydrothermal carbonization and safe underground carbon storage. We are grateful to EBP Ventures, the jury members, and our fellow participants for an inspiring event that celebrated innovation with purpose.
