Broken HNQ (StackExchange.com homepage) layout on mobile

The HNQ layout on mobile devices is broken on the Stack Exchange.com homepage . The featured site and other things like the user list are shown below the question list. I have no idea whether this is intentional or not. Only staff would know. But, this was not the previous behavior. Some reasons the new layout may not be optimal or may be a bug: the widths of the columns are not actually expanded…

The HNQ layout on mobile devices is broken on the Stack Exchange.com homepage. The featured site and other things like the user list are shown below the question list.

HNQ list has room left to the right while featured site below that is squeezed and so the user list while there is room to spare

I have no idea whether this is intentional or not. Only staff would know. But, this was not the previous behavior.

Some reasons the new layout may not be optimal or may be a bug:

  • the widths of the columns are not actually expanded to take advantage of the move
  • the content in the featured-site box extends past the visual boundary of its box
  • the featured site now is only visible after scrolling past all of the hot network questions
