How has the number of active users across the Stack Exchange network evolved over the years?

I wonder how the number of active users has evolved over the years across the Stack Exchange network.

I am aware of:

• SEDE query: Number of new users created per year
• SEDE query: Number of new users created per day
• https://stackexchange.com/sites used to have the number of active users but Stack Exchange removed a while ago.

How has the number of monthly active users (MAUs) across the Stack Exchange network evolved over the years? Other frequencies (daily/weekly/quarterly/yearly/etc.) are fine too. I understand that "active" will have to be defined, I propose a user is active iff they posted something but other definitions are welcome too.
