A few days ago I took some time and trouble to edit this question about semiprimes that was asked by a new user clearly not proficient in math formatting and math phrasing.
I did this because I feel the question intended is of sufficient quality and interest to post on MO. Also I feel that such questions by relative outsiders should be encouraged, because they often enough carry some fresh perspective which in my eyes is beneficial in itself.
I believe my edit was succesful in resolving the reason for closing, and so when the edit was accepted I waited in some expectation that the question would be duly reopened.
However nothing is happening, although the question has 3 upvotes (one is mine of course). Since I don't have enough rep to view reopen queues, I have no idea why. But I think it is discouraging to a new user if such a reopen review takes forever. I also think the question is drifting down the list as time passes, thus missing the attention of people who do have enough rep to reopen. (See also this metaquestion).
So I would like to ask if someone would spare the time to reopen this question, or else indicate why my edit still falls short of MO standards.
Thank you,
Franka Waaldijk
