If a question isn’t about “MO-hard” math, but an MO-level answer is required, should the question be asked on MO?

I have a question about using the [well-known/classical] method of rational parameterization of curves to generate “complete solutions” (a.k.a. “parameterizations”) of Diophantine equations. Good examples of what I’m talking about are given here (for equal sums of cubes) and here (for equal sums of squares).

My question is whether or not these solutions fall prey to the “fallacies” outlined by L.E. Dickson in papers like this one. While this paper differentiates between homogeneous and non-homogenous equations, Dickson later writes about how that difference is not as clear-cut as one may think (though I can’t currently find a reference for that).

I am putting together a paper in which I hope to leverage these kinds of “complete solutions” to attack/solve several Diophantine equations, and I would like total confidence that they can be relied on.

Since I really want an MO-level answer, is my question of “vulnerability” [to Dickson’s “fallacies”] an MO-worthy question?
