On Saturday, October 18, 2025, millions of Americans are taking to the streets to protest the current regime of the Beta-Carotene Kleptocrat, his Project 2025 broligarch puppeteers, and whatever dregs of support still remain among his red-hatted followers.

Slowly, but surely, more and more citizens are realizing that this is NOT what democracy looks like, but that doesn’t mean the war is won. Nor does it mean all hope is lost, but that point is not far away. We’re looking at the astrology of the No Kings protest to see what guidance the cosmos offers for our activists and our nation.

Protesting is an American pastime, as anyone who has lived or worked in D.C. can attest. The right to free speech, the right to assemble, and the right to tell your government to fuck off into the Sun are literally the principles on which this nation was founded. Well, sure, there was also the colonization, enslavement, and suppression of women’s rights, but we’ll get back to that.

However, the recent peaceful protests we are used to seeing such as the Women’s March, the March for Science, and the myriad others that sprang up especially during the 2016 to 2020 time frame are a bit of an historical anomaly.

Most protests played out like the BLM uprisings in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. They were met with violent police oppression, military and/or national guard intervention, and hired agitators and saboteurs who intentionally created harm and chaos to discredit the activists and their work. What we are seeing now is a taste of that, and many who have previously enjoyed the privilege of peaceful protest are finding this reality to be quite unpalatable.

This is a reminder that every legal protection of every right we have today has been written in blood, bruises, and body bags. From Selma to the Haymarket riots to the mills of Lawrence to Stonewall, too many who fought the fight did not live to see the fruits of their work. Instead, they left their legacy to future generations, entrusting they would understand how precious these liberties are and would honor their sacred duty to protect them. This (*gestures broadly*) is what happens when that sacred duty is neglected.

SHAMELESS PLUG: If you like history, astrology, and politics, join us on Tuesday, November 11, for the next installment of our new series Stars & Stripes: The Astrology of Our Democracy - Uranus Returns & The Drums of War!

Although thousands of No Kings events will take place, we decided to use the march in Washington, D.C., which is expected to begin at noon. This chart has a 20° Sagittarius rising, so we look to Jupiter as the chart ruler. Jupiter expands everything it touches, and it is currently in Cancer, the sign of family, homeland, and patriotism. It’s technically in the 7th House of foreign affairs and open enemies, but it’s just a few degrees away from the 8th House of debt, taxes, death rates, and shared resources.

That feels very indicative of both the current budget battle and government shutdown in Congress, and the tariff-ic trade war that the Tangerine Tyrant started for no reason other than to destabilize our economy so his broligarch buddies could suck even more money out of American pockets. Sagittarius is a mutable Fire sign that tells the truth (at least their version of it) with zero regard to anyone’s fee-fees. They are the ones who say what everyone else has been thinking, but kept to themselves, which is why they are sometimes called “Sagi-terrorists”. Your feelings are not their problem.

Sagittarius can also be known for fanaticism, taking their love of adventure and freedom to the extreme. It’s also the OG “Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me” sign. When we combine this, it’s giving big patriot energy, but what exactly does that word mean, especially now that it has been co-opted and corrupted by fascists?

That is a question we have been trying to answer for nearly 250 years, and here’s the first interesting note about this chart: the natal chart for the U.S. also has a Sagittarius rising (12°) and a Jupiter in Cancer (05°), so this chart lands in our nation’s 1st House of identity and we are also going through its Jupiter return. It’s a reckoning of who we have been and who we want to be moving forward.

Additionally, our Constitution and government have their own chart, as they were not put into place until 1789. That chart has a 27° Scorpio rising and a 19° Jupiter in Cancer. Again, there is the same alignment with the No Kings chart landing in the 1st House and a Jupiter return, although this one is a loose conjunction. It’s another call to reflect upon, and perhaps reset, our identity.

The second interesting note is there are 2 quincunx aspects running parallel to one another. A quincunx is a 150° angle that is irritating and frustrating. It has neither the harmony of a trine, nor the direct challenge of an opposition. There is no particular name for when these aspects run parallel, but I think they are telling us what is at the center of tomorrow’s event.

The Moon, representing We, the People and our emotions, is at 23° Virgo in the 9th House of judicial matters, religious influence, higher education, and large gatherings. In precise Virgo, we are grounded, concerned about our daily lives, and want details - Who is really running this country? Why is SCOTUS not checking and balancing the other branches like they’re supposed to? Why are you trying to put all this religion in our schools, government, and daily lives? When the fuck are republicans going to do their damn jobs and reopen the government?? Virgo also rules health, and many people will be without care if the ACA subsidies expire and premiums rise this year.

Quincunx that Moon is Chiron at 24° Aries in the 4th House of homeland, farm, and family, marking a Chiron return for the nation’s natal 20° placement. Chiron is about the unhealed wounds we carry, and in that 4th House, we are being called to really examine our nation’s founding. On whose land were we founded? On whose backs were economies built? On whose labor were men allowed to rise in careers, prestige, and power? America’s natal Chiron is also in the 4th House, so we once again see a recall to our beginnings to face the discomfort of true history.

Running parallel to that is a quincunx between the Sun (25° Libra) and that stubborn Neptune (00° Aries-r) conjunct Saturn (26° Pisces-r) in the 3rd House of media and communications. The Sun represents the ruler, which in this case is supposed to be Pumpkin Spice Palpatine, but we are all questioning whether he is really calling the shots or merely regurgitating whatever words some little Iago whispers in his narcissistic and not-bullet-scarred ear. Pay attention to how the news has and will continue to frame the No Kings events. Expect they will twist their narrative to suit his ego (more on this in a moment.)

We have watched these two entities dance for a while now, most recently as an opposition and kite that felt more like an anchor. In this case, it still feels like the Saturnian constrictions and his own Neptunian delusions are getting under his skin. Neptune rules illness, so this could be health related, and there have certainly been a number of theories floated about. Whatever the cause, it still feels like he is trying to break free from the conjunction’s weighty grasp.

“Breaking free” seems to be the story in common for these parallel paths, but what is most interesting is that they never cross despite being the perceived target of one another’s ire. In reality, they each have their own internal work to do. For the Sun, that means facing the reality behind his illusions and restrictions, but do not hold your breath. He won’t.

For We, the People, we will never be a More Perfect Union until we face the inequities that continue to exist under the facade of “Land of the Free”. For too many, fascism isn’t new. They have experienced it selectively since the first Europeans arrived. As Malcolm X once said, “We didn’t land on Plymouth Rock; the rock was landed on us.” That rock has continued to land on wave after wave of immigrants who have been ostracized, criminalized, and exploited.

There is no “going back” to the way things were if we truly want a democracy. That’s a jagged little pill that too many are not yet ready to swallow.

The third interesting note is that while the quincuncx aspects do not cross or meet (like in a Yod), they are still connected. The Sun is in opposition to Chiron, and together they form the base of a T-Square that is bisected by our Jupiter. T-Squares are challenging aspects that pull and collide energies, forcing us to look elsewhere for solutions.

As a luminary, the Sun brings matters to light and sunlight is the best disinfectant. This regime is bringing all the rot, decay, and racism to the surface in a bigly way. That bile is no longer deniable by those who either do not directly experience its viciousness, or perhaps have benefited (knowingly or unknowingly) from its oppressive power structure. So how do we solve a problem like patriarchy?

Look to the “missing leg”, which in this case is Pluto (01° Aquarius) in the 2nd House of economy, values, and our material possessions. Pluto is the cosmic bowling ball of transformation, knocking down what no longer serves, and it just stationed direct on Tuesday. Aquarius is the sign of the collective, co-ruled by structured Saturn and rebellious Uranus. This strange dichotomy of energies can be hard to balance, but we have another 20 years for this transit to sort its shit out.

A quick aside regarding orbs: We prefer to work with smaller orbs of 5° or less, but some folks use up to 10°. If you’re in that camp, you may already see this as a Grand Cross, and with a loose opposition of 7°, that Pluto is certainly exerting its pull on the T-Square. Small, but mighty!

If you’ve been here a minute, you know that our country just completed its Pluto return in Capricorn (can you say Great Recession?) HOWEVER, remember that our Constitution and government have a different natal chart? They are of the Pluto in Aquarius generation, meaning they are just beginning their Pluto return and howdy-doo, it has started off with a bang!

We may think this transit is about our government, but our government was always meant to be representative of We, the People. The Founders knew they were not perfect, nor could they predict how the world would change in times to come, so they gave us a very strong framework to evolve our government as needed.

They gave us co-equal branches that checked and balanced one another, and the largest legislative body was a direct representation of the People, but these guardrails are only as strong as those who stand in their place. We got lazy and distracted; the fascists didn’t. This is what happens when we blink.

This Pluto in Aquarius is a call to reclaim our power as We, the People, but there is also no going back to “the way it was”. That way relied on the continued exclusion and marginalization of too many for the benefit of too few. We will need to innovate that framework to become a More Perfect Union.

I began saying this years ago as we approached Pluto in Aquarius: The Constitution and government we have at the start of this transit is not the one we will have at the end of it. I cannot tell you how or why it will change, but it will. It’s up to us to decide if that change is for the better.

The fourth interesting note is that Pluto is part of a mini Grand Trine along with the Neptune-Saturn conjunction and Uranus. This has been hanging around for a while as all 4 slow moving outer planets were retrograde, but now Pluto has gotten its astral ass in gear. The others, which include co-rulers Saturn and Uranus, will join it in the coming months.

We already discussed the Neptune-Saturn conjunction, but Uranus deserves some focus. It is associated with technology, innovation, and the “Eureka!” moments, but it is also the sign of rebellion, anarchy, strikes, and power imbalances. This mini Grand Trine has thus far felt very aligned with the technocratic broligarchy funding this regime for their own purposes and installing a surveillance state in real time.

They have allowed the Sun (47) to have the spotlight and focus while they work behind the scenes to achieve their own goals, but they will cut him loose when he either no longer serves his purpose, or has become too much of a liability to their cause. He was always a giant orange Trojan Horse to gain access to the inner workings of government and a distraction to draw our attention away from their machinations.

However, notice the loose opposition to the Moon and Venus, the latter of which is in her home sign of Libra. Venus rules peace, women, diplomacy, and money, and while Libra is the scales of Justice, let’s not forget that Justice also carries a sword.

These cryptobro Christofascists underestimated the absolute ungovernable menaces that Americans can be and now we are pushing back on their consolidation of money and power, both big Pluto themes. This is OUR country, goddammit! She may have been a mixed-up bucket of shit at times, but she is OUR mixed-up bucket of shit, and they need to get their grubby broligarch hands off of her.

The Project 2025 puppeteers thought it would be easy and for the past 9 months, it has been because folks refused to believe “it could happen here”, but tides are turning. Yes, we are past the point where protest alone will bring about reform, but they serve as a reminder that we are not alone. E pluribus unum - Out of many, One.

Also, if this regime didn’t care about a No Kings protest, they wouldn’t be bitching and moaning so hard. Our level of unrest was unexpected, and it matters.

So, here’s where we’re going to break our rules about those 5° orbs because when we zoom out to look at this chart, there is a Grand Sextile. This is a pattern where two Grand Trines overlay one another with one inverted. Together they create a Grand Sextile, which looks like the Star of David. It is considered a very rare and auspicious pattern and while it is not perfect here, neither are people.

Grand Trine 1 is our Virgo Moon, Pluto in Aquarius, and Geminian Uranus. This is “Power to the People” energy! Folks have realized that the old ways of protesting no longer work. They have had to get innovative, hence the barrage of inflatable characters we have seen from the proudly weird Portland.

Their sheer absurdity undermines the fascist claim that Democratic cities are overrun with violent radical thugs. The short video of a so-called ICE agent, who is more likely a J6er playing dress up for his 30 pieces of silver, intentionally and maliciously shooting pepper spray directly into the breathing hole of someone wearing an inflatable frog costume has inspired others to join in the chorus of Kermits. Unicorns, T-Rexes, chickens, axolotls, and more fill the inflated ranks of a nascent amphibious army, drawing a powerful visual contrast between peaceful protestors and the Y’all Qaeda in mismatched combat fatigues from Wish dot com.

Grand Trine 2 is our Neptune-Saturn conjunction, Jupiter in Cancer, and a Mars-Mercury conjunction in Scorpio. Now, we love us some well-expressed Scorpio energy, BUT!! If Mars in Aries is soldier vibes, Mars in Scorpio is the spy - secretive, subversive, and deadly. Combine it with trickster Mercury and it’s giving saboteur vibes. WE DO NOT LOVE THIS.

Side note: A bunch of government accounts just set up on Bluesky, a so far more liberal-ish version of Xitter. They are taking the battle to the social media front, trying to subvert a perceived safe haven for resistors and persistors. With that will likely come an influx of incels, so block-and-bless as needed.

If Grand Trine 1 aligns with Power to the People, Grand Trine 2 aligns with bigly illusions and trickery from this regime. Protestors have already been warned to watch for agitators being planted amongst their ranks, but we can still expect there will be attempted shenanigans. This conjunction is also in the 11th House of legislative affairs, and it lands in the 12th House of hidden enemies for the U.S. Constitution/government natal chart. WE REALLY DO NOT LOVE THIS.

We have seen attempts by this regime at inciting violence before, and we have also seen their attempts to paint sus AF shootings as “violent Leftist” crimes. Thus far, many folks have seen through their bullshit, but that does not mean they won’t keep trying. Could they have some “big event” planned that is used to pass restrictive legislation? We know they are just itching to invoke the Insurrection Act and with it, declare martial law, stripping all civil liberties and suspending the upcoming elections they know they will lose. Keep your eyes open and question everything.

Both of these trines have loose aspects, and it feels like neither side actually has their shit together… yet. Uranus will dip back into Taurus next month where it will remain retrograde until the end of January. Saturn and Neptune both station direct by mid-December, but by that point, Jupiter has stationed retrograde. Whatever happens between now and then, we are running out of time to harness our collective power before this regime - as bassackwards as it is - fully dismantles our economy and democracy.

[START RANT] Now, this is 1,000% NOT a call to violence, which we need to clearly state for legal reasons because some folks have the reading comprehension of a dull toothpick. However, it is a call to stop being so fucking surprised when they do the illegal things they said they were going to do all along. FFS! They wrote a whole damn book and a bazillion creators created Cliff Notes content for the TL;DR crowd, but did it sink in?? NoooOOOOooo… This is why I root for the asteroid. [END RANT]

The Moon is at the top of the chart near the Midheaven. Although chart ruler Jupiter is part of this Grand Sextile, this placement actually feels like the Moon is the real focus. These No Kings protests are about We, the People rising up and harnessing the power of this pattern for a greater purpose, but what are We rising up against? What motivates us?

We are disgusted by the raids by Temu Taliban so-called ICE agents who refuse to identify themselves or provide legal warrants, instead hiding behind masks and assaulting people as they go about their daily life, either dropping off children at school, going to doctor’s appointments, or attending their court hearings - which are part of the legal immigration process.

We are frustrated because there are 750,000 federal workers - the ones still left after the DOGE decimation - who are currently furloughed because Evil Keebler Elf Mike Johnson refuses to recall his GOP members back to the House so they can get back to the business of passing a budget so the government can reopen and ALL government workers can get paid.

We are disenfranchised because Cabbage Patch Christofascist Mike Johnson also refuses to swear in the duly elected representative from Arizona, Adelita Grijalva, since he knows she will be the deciding 218th signature on a petition to bring the release of the Epstein files to a vote, thus making some very rich people very unhappy.

We are pissed off because this government is being run by people who were never on a ballot, although those of us paying attention tried to warn you, and frankly? If democracy was going to fall, I am personally pissed off that it is doing so to the biggest bunch of antisocial B-film broligarch fuckers that seem more fit for an Austin Powers reboot than the suspense and intrigue of a 007 installment. I demand better Bond villains!

  • No one voted for Fun-Sized fascist Stephen Miller.

  • No one voted for Apartheid Elmo Elon Musk.

  • No one voted for Keystone Kops Kash Patel.

  • No one voted for Party Sauce Pete Hegseth.

  • No one voted for Brainworm Bobby Kennedy, Jr.

No one voted for any of these human skidmarks on the tighty-whiteys of society that are now dismantling democracy one angry tweet at a time…

But they are what rises to the top when we let the guardrails weaken.

Instead of appreciating just how new and fragile the legal protections of our rights are, society whined about how it’s not enough, demanding more without appreciating what they inherited and without the willingness to do the damn hard work it took to get here.

Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “The tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” What we see now is a very parched and neglected tree of Liberty.

Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts claimed, “The second American revolution will remain bloodless if the Left allows it to be,” but he is wrong about that in several ways. For one, he and his ilk have no intentions of this power grab being bloodless. In reality, it is fueled by bloodlust as we have seen so clearly during these kidnappings in broad daylight - and where the fuck are those missing 1,000 detainees from Alligator Alcatraz???

Second, despite the war’s name to the contrary, America has never actually had a revolution. We had a War of Independence, where we sought to break off from Britain and establish our nation. We have had a War of Secession, where one part of the country broke off to form their own independent nation for a short time. We also had a World War that saw tens of thousands of our own citizens rounded up and interned in domestic concentration camps simply because of their Japanese, Italian, or German ancestry.

All of those took place while Uranus was in Gemini - exactly where it is now. To Jefferson’s point, there is no way that this battle for democracy will “remain bloodless”. It has already incurred casualties and while we sincerely hope there will not be more, there is a strong likelihood that there will be.

SHAMELESS PLUG (AGAIN): If you like history, astrology, and politics, join us on Tuesday, November 11, for the next installment of our new series Stars & Stripes: The Astrology of Our Democracy - Uranus Returns & The Drums of War!

So where does this leave us? This is one battle in a long-time-coming war. There will be more. Some will be wins, others will be losses. This is not an easy fix. It is the deep collective transformation of Pluto in Aquarius, a task set out by the cosmos for all of humanity, not just Americans.

What does it mean to be a global citizen? Who do we want to be as humans?

Our worldviews are being shaken and disrupted in ways that make us uncomfortable, and that discomfort is exactly where the real work lies. Perhaps there are other ways to refresh the tree of Liberty aside from bloodshed. This is our call to innovate and elevate.

So mote it be. March safe and may the frogs be with you.
