3/10- No students in school- Staff development day- our staff go into the community to learn about other school and programs being offered.

  • Read Across America Week is 3/3-3/7- Look out for more information & resources from your child's teacher

  • Interoception Newsletter coming this month!

  • Movement of the Month: Low to High Kneel

  • Our Community Foods of the Month are Broccoli and Cauliflower!

  • In February we’ve had a blast celebrating Black History Month by learning about different Black artists! We learned about Trecy Bleich, a contemporary jewelry designer from Atlanta, Georgia while making our own jewelry with a variety of techniques. This was intentionally timed to lead up to Valentines Day as an opportunity to practice self-love through the self-expressive act of adornment. Some classes also completed a Valentines Day project where they thought about their own favorite things as well as their peers’ preferences and expressed these with stickers and stamps.

  • After February break, we began our cut-paper unit and continue learning about Black female artists as we transition into Women’s history month. We have started making paper mosaics similar to Alma Thomas’s paintings and will study some famous quilters including Faith Ringold and the Gee’s Bend Quilters. Finally, we will end the month learning about Georgia O’Keefe and making art with pastels.
