Hey friend!

The weather’s taken a frosty turn, and I’ve been spending my free time staying cozy watching shows while sketching. This next few months, I’m ready to lean into a wintering season.

But before that, I’ve got some updates for you! Here’s what you can expect in this letter:

  • Print shop opening (and a subscriber-only discount code!)

  • Magical Naturalism Recap

  • Sketches

  • Link round-up

My print shop is open!! After taking a year off selling prints online, we’re back!

Shop Now!

Shop prints ranging from 5x7 to 11x14. Plus, you can snag a limited number of mystery print bundles of discontinued, B-grade prints.

All new prints were produced locally by Replicate Print! So glad to partner with a small business that is a 15-minute walk from my house.

Newsletter subscribers can get 20% off of their order with the code NEWSLETTER20!

I can’t believe it’s been over a month since the show!! It’s taken me just about that long to recover. 😅

SO thankful to everyone’s support! It was absolutely surreal to showcase my work in such a beautiful, historic space.

  • Professionally framing pieces really elevated the work. Thank you, The Framery Etc.

  • I felt really proud of how far my work has come this year. Several pieces even sold to strangers!

  • Lots of foot traffic on First Friday. The windows really glow at night and invite folks into the building.

  • Food spread looked amazing—couldn’t have done it without help from friends!!

  • Art Walk weekend was slow. I need better signage to get foot traffic during daylight hours. Or maybe next year, I host a watercolor workshop instead?

  • I got sick TWICE—before and after the show. 🤧 In retrospect, I need to take better care of myself despite the time crunch.

  • Next year, I need to make my name a little more visible throughout the exhibit. Maybe a clear artist statement instead next year.

Thank you all AGAIN for making this such a wonderful event!

Now to rest, and plot out next year. 💛

Slowly, I’ve been getting back into a regular drawing rhythm. Here’s some of what’s in my digital sketchbook!

I’m a sucker for magical key concepts.
A cave troll concept for Folktale week that I never finished. I still want to refine this at some point!
Sketch for this year’s holiday cards—inspired by Frog & Toad and Calvin & Hobbes illustrations. Keep an eye out in December. 💌

App: Pimsleur

I’ve been itching to brush up on my French, so I’ve been listening to Pimsleur lessons on my walks. This is my favorite language-learning app because it forces you to listen and respond conversationally. My link will give you a 7-day free trial if you’d like to try it!

Book: The Skull: A Tyrolean Folktale

Spooky is having a moment in children’s literature. In this book, our lost protagonist discovers an abandoned house and makes friends with a skull. The illustrations are wonderful because—of course—it’s Jon Klassen.

If something stood out to you in this newsletter, please let me know! Reply or leave a comment. It really makes my day. 💛

Talk to you again in December!!

All my best,
Reagan
