Today, I am so excited to share a phenomenal conversation with the smartest person I know in publishing, Doug Seibold of Agate Publishing. (And check out his incredible Substack, What Publishing Is.)
For those who don’t know, before I pivoted to fiction, I got my start in writing nonfiction, mainly in the health and wellness space. (Before I was an author, I was a personal trainer, nutrition specialist, health writer, and gym owner!)
Agate published one of my earlier books, Power Vegan. Formerly plant-based for 15 years, I used to be wildly passionate about this subject. (Today, I am no longer plant-based, in case anyone cares.)
To this day, I learned THE MOST about publishing from Doug, was treated like absolute gold, and have always admired his attitude about longevity in this business.
Wherever you are in your publishing journey, I hope this conversation brings you some insight, a little laughter, and clarity about the options you have, the state of publishing today, and just what a good book can do in the world.
Please share with anyone you think might need some encouragement on their writing journey!
