So, this has been a long time coming.
Summit Comics Presents is finally here.
When we started Summit Comics, this was always the book we were working toward. Creating a SUPERHERO universe to make waves in the KICKSTARTER MARKET. The vision was pretty simple: introduce new characters, tell an ongoing shared narrative, and create a platform where creators could help other creators build audiences, gain backers, and support each other’s campaigns. Sharing fanbases and unifying them under the SUMMIT BANNER. We wanted to take our friends and our characters and connect them all.
The idea was to feature two or three characters in every issue, building a magazine in the spirit of Shonen Jump/Marvel Team-Up/Marvel Two-in-One/ DC’s The Brave and the Bold—a serialized “Kickstarter monthly” comic experience where readers could discover new heroes, follow multiple storylines, and become invested in an ever-growing universe. Every issue would move the larger story forward while giving creators a chance to shine and readers a reason to come back month after month.
This isn’t—and wasn’t—designed to be just another anthology. It’s the foundation of everything we wanted Summit Comics to become. It was designed to tell an ONGOING NARRATIVE with our main character, JUNA MARRIS.
This is the second piece of the big puzzle.
PINNACLE was the beginning—a showcase of the characters that make up the Summit Universe. If you’re not familiar with it, Pinnacle is our event series. Think Civil War, Crisis on Infinite Earths, or Secret Wars. Once a year, just like the Big Two, we’ll bring all our heroes and villains together for a massive event that pushes the entire universe forward. We are HARD AT WORK on PINNACLE 2.

Summit Comics Presents is where those stories begin.
This book plants the seeds for our large events and stories. They introduce new characters, develop existing ones, and build the relationships, rivalries, and mysteries that will eventually explode in Pinnacle 2. Every issue adds another piece to the puzzle, rewarding readers who follow the entire universe while still telling great standalone stories along the way. Summit Presents will give you all that.
We also took on our first work-for-hire writing project with Karla Medrano. Today, she’s a partner in the company, but our original goal was to have her help narrate and further develop our character, Juna Marris.
Because Juna is a woman of color, we wanted someone who could bring an authentic perspective and lived experience to the character. Karla did exactly that. She brought depth, heart, and authenticity to Juna in ways we couldn’t have accomplished on our own.
We also got super blessed that Marcus Jimenez decided to bring one of his MANY, MANY IDEAS. Like, legit he is the HOUSE OF IDEAS! It’s not Marvel; it's Marcus. Anyways, he brought his talent to us with his character, KILLSTRIKE, and decided to be the artist on BOTH HALVES of this book.
So, here’s the big pitch.
Every Summit Comics title matters. We want you to have your favorites. If you like GRANITE—AWESOME!! If you vibe with UPHEAVAL—I am super grateful. Each book stands on its own, but they’re all pieces of a much larger story. However, Summit Comics Presents is especially important because it leads directly into Pinnacle #2, and I don’t want you to miss what’s coming. That event has been spearheaded for MONTHS by Adam Barnhart and is going to be talked about for a long time as one of the coolest EVENT books ever done in comics.
