Kelsie Hartley · Reading Revisited

Hello Reading Friends,

This is a long awaited Miscellany post and I hope it finds you well! We’ve had quite the few months at Reading Revisited! It has been a lovely summer, but wow it gets busy fast. We’ve been visiting other YouTube channels, Podcasts, and hosting the most successful Book Drop Day to date! Along with our normal In Person and Virtual Book Clubs and our special Reading Revisited Society Podcasts and Book Clubs.

At the Hartley House we have been renovating a kitchen most of the summer and it is finally done (and beautiful)! We are so excited to finally be done. I posted some pictures a few weeks ago if you missed them.

Other than that, Hartley Baby #7 is doing great and finally letting me live a fairly normal life with lots of extra naps and a much more normal amount of reading.

I hope everyone else’s summers are going great and you are all getting the exact ratio of rest to fun that is included in your ideal summer!

Alright….onto the Reading Revisited Announcements…..

I’m not sure you possibly could have missed it, but in case you did….Book Drop Day was a HUGE success and so much fun! If you happen to have had all your notifications off and slept through the whole day, make sure to check out our new list for the 2026-2027 Reading Year! In that post you can click through and see all of the Book Drop Day Posts with all of our amazing guest writers!

If you see the list and immediately want to join an in person book club, please message me and I will get you in contact with your local leader (OR put on the bookish peer pressure to start your own group). We are growing a TON and there are new Reading Revisited Groups popping up all over the country (with a few international groups thrown in as well)!

GUYS! It is Jane Austen month! Not only that, but it is THE LAST Jane Austen month (until we start rereading her whole cannon before we missed her so much)! We are reading Mansfield Park as our last finished Jane Austen novel. If this is a novel you haven’t read yet, tried and put down, or don’t revisit as often….give it a try! You will not be disappointed, especially once you hear from the lovely Eleanor Bourg Nicholson on the topic! Read the Resource Roundup, read Eleanor’s article in the St. Austin Review, read (or listen to) the novel, and then listen to the podcasts coming up at RR in the next few weeks. I think you’re going to LOVE Mansfield Park!

And don’t forget to attend your local book club or hop onto our Virtual Meeting after you read!

Welcome to Reading Revisited, a place for friends to enjoy some good old-fashioned book chat while revisiting the truth, beauty, and goodness we’ve found in our favorite books.

Reread- Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh

American Classic- The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton

If you aren’t a member of The Reading Revisited Society yet, I have to be honest, you are missing out on an AMAZING read through of Paradise Lost. But, it is not too late to join! We released our Book 6 (with a heavy dose of Frog and Toad) conversation this week and Book 7 will be out soon as well!

We will have our next Society Only Virtual Book Club mid-late September on Books 6-8 so keep an eye out for that date soon!

And with that I will let you go get back to your (rainy, if you live near me) Saturday with many cups of coffee and tea and lots of books!

Till next time,

Kelsie Hartley

Until next time, keep revisiting the good books that enrich your life and nourish your soul.
