Come Inside Selena's Office

Our new Soft Pinch Liquid Oil Stick drenches lips in glossy, super-saturated color, and before its launch someone said, “Don’t these shades make you want to drench everything in color?”

So that’s what we did.

Earlier this month, we took Selena’s office on tour with a Soft Pinch-inspired pop up: a recreation of her workspace drenched in the shade Wish. Basic.Space—a curated marketplace that specializes in vintage luxury, exclusive art pieces, designer furniture, and limited-run fashion drops—kept the design true to the original, welcoming our Los Angeles and Madrid communities for a look inside.

Selena’s actual office is a gathering space, and there’s no shortage of seating (an entire sofa and fully stocked pink mini fridge sit out of frame).

We wanted to recreate that same welcoming environment for our community, so Basic.Space chose a vintage Moraine Sofa (2000) by Zaha Hadid from Same Old as the sculptural—and inviting—centerpiece.

When you’re the founder of a beauty brand, a vanity with great lighting is non-negotiable. Basic.Space took that idea and multiplied it.

Guests were invited to sit down and try out the new Soft Pinch Lip Oil Stick, just like Selena did during product development. Her real office is often filled with fresh flowers, which inspired this stunning ponytail palm (in a Willy Guhl Vessel from Serpentine LA, no less).​​

Selena’s real office is decorated with personal photos and sticky notes from friends and family. For the event, she left a handwritten note for our community beneath a gorgeous Georges Frydman Table Lamp (c.1960s) from Kelly Wearstler.

You could spend an hour just browsing the shelves in Selena’s actual office. The things you might see include: a framed picture from her wedding day, a beauty award or two, OG campaign photos, two vintage cameras, some of our favorite PR mailers, three candles, and the complete Soft Pinch Liquid Blush collection.

Basic.Space recreated the look with the USM Haller Modular Shelf from USM, a Hug Tray from Kouros Maghsoudi, and the Togo Candle (left), Tramonto a NY Candle (right), and Dune 02 Candle (bottom), all from Moody by Sha. And yes, that pink box is one of our favorite PR mailers—just like in the real office.
