This is not just an issue of Israeli “settler violence”. It reflects the partnership among the settlers, the messianic Jewish groups, the Israeli government and armed forces, and key Western states like the USA and UK. Leaders of some of the first Jewish settlers in Palestine who fled persecution in Russia and Europe in the 1880s wrote about the indigenous Arabs in Palestine who had to be removed somehow to make room for Jewish colonies that would become a state. This happened with the direct, strategic, frequent and ongoing complicity of Western powers — Europeans initially, then the USA recently — who intervened in various ways to allow militant Jewish immigrants to harasss then drive out the Palestinians.
Recent UN and other independent international assessments speak of “coordinated implementation” and a “concerted policy” among settler terrorists, the Israeli army and the government, which have uprooted 63 Palestinians communities and 36,000 people in recent years. An average of six attacks a day now occur, now nearing 2000 per year.
The core problem is not “violent settlers”. It is the zionist settler-colonial policy since the 1880s, and ongoing daily, which can only happen with Western silence or active support in some cases, alongside the hapless helplessness of the many Arab states that speak of supporting Palestinian rights but cannot seem to take action for that purpose.
