GOLD: A LOOK AT SOME BEFORE AND AFTER CHARTS

Tonight we’ll look at some before and after charts for gold towards the end of this Weekend Report with some charts going back to 2022 to see how they’ve been playing out. It’s always interesting to see what the charts you were looking at in the past if they came close to playing out to what you were expecting. Charts should tell a story that most people can understand even if you don’t know a lot about Chartology.

Last week the PM complex continued their breakout thrust rally and is beginning to get a little too hot and may need some time to cool down and form some type of consolidation pattern. This first chart for tonight is a daily combo chart which shows the 2026 bullish falling wedge and shows the breakout thrust with one small consolidation pattern forming so far. Consolidation patterns are necessary for the longevity of the impulse move. Without them, the trend will burn out quickly. Late last week we finally saw SLV close above its top trend line, being the last one to do so.
