“D is for delightful, and try and keep your trousers on”
“D is for Dangerous”, by Arctic Monkeys
A delightful day of two distinct halves sandwiched by a walk and talk with Jeremy (and his beautiful pug dog “Bear”) in the toytown of Ironbridge, easily summarises my Saturday in the August sunshine. How shall I describe my Saturday by telling you everything and still nothing at all? Well, breakfast in the forest was a roaring success as always (bacon, posh sausages, fried bread, mushrooms, and black pudding for the weirdos…) before the conversations that followed breakfast within the group that will never, EVER be repeated here. You should’ve been there! You may well have choked on your posh sausage but trust me, you’ll never look at a Mars Bar in the same light ever again!
Then it was time for wine gums, lemon bon bons, Stephen King, and a whole horror film full of nervous anticipation. “All work and no play makes Stephen a dull boy” and hence I’ll fail to adequately describe how exciting it was for me to fall into a tension filled game of Scrabble later this evening, two games in fact, two losses, and D wasn’t for Dangerous but “Dynamite”, and here’s to more simple explosions of human joy soon.
“Dear Diary” is a new concept I’m running with for the new year. Short, punchy, irreverent, spoiler free, telling you everything and nothing about that day’s particular journal entry. Here’s today’s entry. Do check back in tomorrow. After you’ve tempted yourself with one of these beauties I self-published either side of Christmas 2025:
